Meta Battle Admins
You think all the new builds will be figured out an hour after patch? I doubt that, lol.
Some of the streamers today were pretty helpful with giving their opinions on what sort of set ups have “meta” potential. In particular five guage came up with several different, yet effective cele engi builds and rabid condition builds that he thinks would be tournament viable.
The thing is that some streamers aren’t pvpers, and not every class is represented, but if you play engi, warrior, guard, or ele, based on the people streaming, you should be able to get some good build ideas of what should work from them.

For good builds to emerge.
I give it a week tops for engi/warrior/guard/thief/ranger/necro(assuming they get any good builds).
Much longer for mesmer and ele.

It will take a couple of weeks until all is figured out, like previous meta-shifts.
This time the meta-shift will be the largest ever the game had, so might take a bit more time.
The best part of meta battle is that it herds all the sheep into the slaughterhouse. So easy to predict opponents builds before the match starts. <evil grin>
All joking aside, keep up good work. That site has some great builds and is well maintained, it seems.

Not really up to Meta Battle’s admins, the speed that it updates depends more on the community figuring out what is working.

Honestly I feel like the mesmer community has already pretty much figured out what the meta will be, although there will be some slight variation. The only point of contention for mesmer will be whether to go chaos or illusions for shatter, since it changes the focus between lockdown and traditional shatter respectively. And from what I know the weaponset will still be the same, GS with staff on forest and sword/torch elsewhere, but pistol could work if running chaotic interruption.
And for Ele, well we all know that water/arcane will be mandatory, and according to the top players, fire will be best for cele and air for zerker/crusader. They don’t view earth as useful becuase it lacks damage, and they run balanced comps that don’t need ele to be marginally more tanky. The biggest challenge for them will be adjusting to a lower health pool.

Metabattle is not written by admins. Anyone can write down a build there.
Specializations were implemented yesterday (without the flashy background though, that’ll come later this week) and we’ve got most of the builds covered already, at least on a concept level – we have some ideas based on our own predictions as well as some top players’ and plan to have at least 2 up to date builds for each profession for PvP within 24 hours of the patch’s launch.
Others already pointed out that builds will go through many changes before they reach a final state, so in the first couple of days most builds will be “v1.0” and the placements (good/great/trash) are far from final.
Skill tooltips will be updated right after we get to see the patch notes, traits will be more detailed towards the end of the week.
Also the more user contributions we get the faster we can sort things out. But before making an edit try to give a brief reasoning on the proper discussion page, by this we can eliminate counterproductive edits.
We’ll also wait 1-2 weeks before labeling anything as “meta” because “the meta is changing at an alarming rate” – Grouch 2015 :P
