Miasma Levels in sPvP Forum
Know what? I don’t give a kitten bout being rude or not, if someone traits his customers like battery hens he totally deserves it…ppl already tried the “kind” way, it doesn’t work…does the rude way work? Dunno but for it’s way better to let off some tension..at least..sounds good enough to me..
The rude way doesn’t work. Ever tried being rude to someone whether they deserved it or not? I have. It doesn’t work. Glad I could assist.

Oh well in real life usually works pretty good actually xD
OP: “Be a decent human being.”
spvp Forum: “wtf who r u 2 tell me wut 2 do?!?! U work for anet, kittenwe have a RIGHT to be toxic/terrible/immature”
I wonder what the average age of this forum is.. I’m guessing somewhere around 15. A whole lot of insecure, awkward teenage angst being unleashed on Anet in these forums.
oh no its the power of love! i cant fight that!
gtfo
i havent reach that yet

Lol I’ve wondered that too. I truly believe that over 50% of the community on the forums is 18 or under. It really makes sense when you read it with all the immature posts of rage and such as well as all the self entitlement. But I definitely agree OP. I’ve been mentioning how people are so disrespectful on the forums for quite sometime. But they are young, you can’t tell them they’re wrong. =\ If only they would listen and the forums could be a better place. Being respectful and offering constructive criticism definitely makes someone reading it with a different point of view more constructive in that you actually might change their opinion with a light debate instead of telling them that they are bad at the game and need to learn to play and all the other more hateful personal attacks that will only make them angry and in no way change their mind towards your point of view because they lost sight of that and can only think of a way to get back at you.
I find it amusing how you are trying to make argument with assumtion that whoever disagress with you is under 18 year old and therefore wrong. Did you ever ask yourself that your assumption might be wrong and that you may be not so smart as you assume? Did you ever have a thought that you might not be actually always right?
You guys call other posters immature yet you lack any kind of tolerance for different opinion and (for me it seems so) don’t even have open mind to the things outside of your “world”. For me it is a sign of being immature. Age doesn’t matter, life experience does. Your statesments show that you in fact lack that very experience or you wouldn’t assume so easily that other are wrong and you are right and use age as argument.

Miasma levels are through the roof here. I know Scarlett is OP, but don’t let her win.
Bravo to the original poster.
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
I agree with you that people should not resort to insulting people, or anything of that ilk. However, let’s be honest, there’s only one party to blame for this toxic environment on the forums: Anet. Let’s look at the facts:
- Very little and confusing communication from Anet
- Insanely touchy-feeling moderators that delete anything that they think is negative
- Incredibly little PvP improvements over the last one and a half years
- Class balance that is very much out of whack and favours a few “chosen sons”
- Class balance that has gotten progressively worse since Beta
- PvP patches that are very few and far between and incredibly slow
- Hardly any additional maps and no additional game modes
- The notion of eSports that has gone all but down the drain
- Hardly any interesting rewards and PVE always has significantly better rewards
- High-level indicative patch notes that clearly show they are not addressing the things that matter
- Moderator posts / patch notes / Ready Ups that made it evident that the balance team clearly don’t understand classes (i.e. Mesmer being one of them) and have no clue what to do with them
From my point of view, when the game launched things were pretty kitten good for a newly launched game. However, whilst you expect steady improvements from there on, there’s been a dearth of them and those that have happened have mostly made PvP worse.
Worst of all, Anet is currently just stringing people along… I mean, the “feature” allegedly won’t be till summer and – I can tell you already – will then introduce so many changes at once that there will be many unforeseen circumstances. We’ll end up with a different Meta, but even the Balance Team Q&A guy confessed that he didn’t quite know how it’d work out. Well, that gives a lot of confidence, doesn’kitten
What have we to show for after one and a half year? Did you honestly expect that things wouldn’t get toxic if Anet behaves like this?

I believe everybody likes this game enough to complain about it excessively.
And yes, optimization, mechanics and bug’s should be priority #1 maybe we will be surprised one day.. i just hope that day will come soon because almost everyone i know is hanging on to this game by a thread.
E.A.D.
If you wait an hour at a restaurant for a steak and ended up getting a salad, you’d be pretty kittened too.
“I’m so hard right now” – Ozie, in solo queue.

While staff keep saying you they’re looking into your steak…for more than one year..
You reap what you sow.
GW2 isn’t any different in that regard to any other MMO community.
Months of a stale meta, repetitive game-play and lack of a positive outlook has turned people sour and bitter. That’s just natural.
Don’t forget that you are able to report offensive/deconstructive posts. Moreover, if you notice a poster posting particularly nasty stuff, you can always look at their posting history; it should reveal whether or not they generally write constructive posts. If they are jerks 90% of the time, you might consider reporting them.
Thanks for the recent posts in here. I agree with the points that there hasn’t been a lot to be jumping for joy over in pvp in terms of content coming our way or balance, but we need to remember that we can’t use that as an excuse to be toxic. People doing something we don’t like doesn’t give us license to be mean. Ever.
Remember, I am not saying to stop being critical. By all means, be critical . We can be critical without being mean to the devs or other players .
I want this community to be a good one but we all need to lend a hand and make it that way.

You can always refer to this as well. I know people feel like they aren’t being listened to, but being rude doesn’t make them want to listen more. If anything, when someone is being rude to me, I tune them out completely. Don’t get tuned out completely. Be constructive in your feedback and help grow this community. Thanks.
Thanks a lot for doing this Iason Evan.3806, it’s truly great to see that there’s someone who is trying to improve the community! :)
I’m sorry for you, trying to be positive is futile.
Idealistically, being nice is better than not always and forever, but yeah, the community just wants results at this point.
Being more civil won’t make the devs work better with the community, I mean, Anet’s few shots at ‘colaborating with the community’ ended up as PR stunts in which they ignored literally everyone’s input or they sent the forums off ‘top level brainstorming’ for things they already had answers to.
They don’t deserve ANY sort of honest effort on the communities side after that.
@Iason Evan
Even Jesus tossed a few tables in his time.
Not every problem can be solved through kindness.
People were supportive, logical and kind to Anet for a long time, but it brought nothing but a rapidly deteriorating game and half-baked features…
So…
Why not try the other side of the coin?
It can’t make the game any worse.
It can’t make the devs ignore the forums any more than they already do.
I mean, GW2 is on its last limb, something crazy has to happen soon or the game is ducked for all eternity.
I’m just sad that Justin, a cool guy, has to take the brunt of this kitten instead of the people causing it. Worse off, I’d feel terrible for this game’s devs if this was all NCSoft’s plan to get people to jump ship to Wildstar. They make GW2 devs seem incapable through rules/regulations and then do the opposite with Wildstar to make Wildstar devs seem great, if just by comparison.

People were outrageously positive about this game all through beta and for the half~ year after… and Anet just sat on the game occasionally tossing out broken features alongside bad patches. Now the game is on its last leg.
Sure, the community can stay positive and pray Anet has a revalation that they are kittening up the game… but if that hasn’t happened over the past two years… wooof, the odds are not in favor. And a big point…

I can’t argue with not giving any effort on the players’ part. I can argue however that perceived lack of development attention in pvp doesn’t give any of us some sort of pass to be rude or cruel. That is never OK and I wanted to address that with this thread and really that is all. This can be a good community. We have no right to ever be jerks.
It’s always funny when people show up with messages like the OP. I think they work for ANET but are using a different account. Any regular person isn’t going to care about the forums. There is always going to be a mix or good, bad, and indifferent. Get used to it.
You don’t have to work for Anet to ask people not to behave like children on a temper tantrum.
The irony of acting up like a child on a temper tantrum is that the people that you want information from avoid engaging the players because they know they would be insulted and the end result being 10 thread with GG, esportz, and blah blah.
This is an mmo forum, if someone isn’t whining chances are the game is dead.
Is it bad that when I read the thread title the first thing that went through my head was “so THAT’S how they’re integrating spvp into the rest of the game”? (anyone who’s been in Lion’s Arch in the past 2 weeks will get what I mean) :p
Ok since they closed the positive thread i think it’s obvious we must go for the toxic way…oh well, at least we tried, but apparently even being so positive we were not “in line”
So…yeah…
Being rude is not “trying”, you have all the right in the world not to play this game if you want to, but no-one has the right to be mean towards the devs or other players
