Mind the new forum subsections!

Hey all,

As some of you have probably already noticed, we have new PvP subsections! The purpose of these new sections is to keep these forums a bit better organized, and to bring more visibility to upcoming events and teams that are recruiting. Please be mindful of what you are posting, and where you are posting it, so we can make sure your thread gets the right kind of attention.

This is awesome, Allie! A step in the right direction no doubt.

Now if we could only get class subforums for PvP-only discussion on classes and balance it’ld be really great.

The new subforums are very good. I see a lot more ppl actually searching for a team/player. Also Events can be found really quick, so overlooking important stuff doesn’t happen anymore. Thanks

For sure! As for PvP-only profession forums, that is not something we will likely do. These forums are already crowded enough, and it’s difficult for devs to respond to things if they have to navigate through 8 different sections every time they want to address balance.

Maybe in the future, when our forums have advanced, it’s something we can think about.

What about tags and filters?

When creating a new post, you’ll be able to choose tags based on the section.
For example, in a profession forum, you’ll be able to tag a post PvP, WvW and PvE, All.

Then users would see the section’s tag at the top when viewing the section, and clicking one would filter the rest and show only those with that tag.

SUGGEST-A-TRON says:
PAY—ONCE—UNLOCKS—ARE—ALWAYS—BETTER.
No exceptions!

Tags are great idea.
Imo we could use them in all sPvP subforums too. Couple examples:

1. Looking for team
- [EU] / [NA]
- [LFT] / [LFM]

Example:
[EU][LFM] Team X Looking for 2 signet Warriors
[NA][LFT] r50 Mesmer looking for hardcore team.

2. PvP Events
- [Podcast]
- [Tournament]
- [SOTG]
- [Contest]

Example:
[SOTG] 28 June with Jonathan Sharp, Allie Murdock, [AL] Supcutie and [TCG] Helseth
[Tournament] ArenaNet yearly tournament 15-28 August.

You get the idea. Be it pre-created tags or a thread naming convention everyone would have to use, it’ld help to find threads we’re interested in much easier.
