I would love to see some sort of small recognition for LB performance before/after it gets reset. Specifically something similar to the past titles that were distributed (veteran of the arena, challenger of the arena, legend of the arena, etc etc), based on the highest you were ever ranked on the old/new LB system

Ok before we get into “LB MEANS NOTHING!!1! pve noob” hear me out and feel free to openly disagree if you want.

First of all I fully support the MMR and LB reset, I think it’s much-needed fresh air for the spvp community.

The logic behind the request is this: it’s a minor recognition for a personal accomplishment (even if the system itself was flawed). The players from before were able to get special titles when I was on hiatus, and they simply had to accumulate win totals, win % had nothing to do with it, so really there wasn’t anything more challenging to achieve those titles back then. Essentially they rewarded the most active players in the tpvp paid tourney community.

While I won’t think twice if nothing happens, I figured I’d voice this in case others felt passionately one way or another and perhaps a dev would consider some sort of recognition for being on the old LB before they erased our MMR’s and created a new LB. I invested about ~700 games on this ladder and I think it would be nifty to get a title for it. Yes, I’m easy to please ^^

Anet doesn´t have to give us a recognition for supporting their solo Q, but it would be nice if we got something to aknowledge…

Although I do feel mildly sorry for the people that climbed legitimately, I still think there should be no leaderboard reward this time around.

There was way too much syncing and the MMR system allowed it so that once you got in the top 150, you stayed there because you were only grouped with other top 150s on your team.

Again, if you did it legitimately, sorry man. But, then again, it should be VERY easy for you to do it again, since many people on the leaderboards won’t be as high as they were (assuming Anet gets the fix right).

So, climb the next round of leaderboards, then once you’re there, enjoy the spoils!

Until then, blame all the syncers for wasting your time.

I dropped from top 25 to sub 200 playing d/d zerker ele/staff zerker ele/zerker ranger, it can be done!

and NEVER was a reward planned for leaderboard – everyone know its broken, even Arenanet

i know people in top 100 – even top 30 which are NO top 100 players and are there because of this broken system

Be happy they fix it and be happy they reset, cause how justin said this is a test for them how fast mmr regulate after reset for future SEASONS.

I understand the desire to be recognized for doing well, but I don’t think Anet can do this. Remember the outcry over people farming glory in skyhammer? Over…undeserved glory points? Glory points! Everyone agreed that the ranks/glory meant nothing and some even suggested that spending 8 hours a day farming for it was a colossal waste of time. But that didn’t matter, dern it—it wasn’t fair. People were getting something they didn’t earn.

Right now, people harbor an intense hatred toward players who don’t play often and are at the top of the boards. Even people who have no legitimate shot at making it to the top spot (or even the top 100 spots) feel cheated because someone is getting better than they deserve.

For the sake of this community, which has shown its willingness to rip itself to shreds for nearly any reason, Anet should not do this.

Lol the only way this should work is you have over 100 games played. Some of the people who played 10-15 games and got one loss then stopped queing on their accounts rofl, is a joke

Read that in another thread. I definitely agree, that would be a great barrier to filter out people who just played the LB game and not really the Solo Q experience.

So how do you justify the top QP title reward? There were amazing teams like Java’s and Nero’s that were playing prime time, and other teams that were farming Oceanic Dead-time pug hours. I won’t list names for that because pretty sure that would break ToS.

So what I want to know is why you think the old titles given out to the people with the most QP’s is more justified than me just asking anet to consider something like a title. They already mentioned the possibility of rewarding LB rank in the past while we were playing on this LB, so what’s so wrong about inquiring about it.

I have been against this for the longest time. The system is too flawed for the leaderboards to mean anything, so how could any rewards be given based on placement? Here are a few big reasons why leaderboards are meaningless/flawed/irrelevant:

1) Flawed matchmaking. I remember a period of a couple hundred games where I could count the number of real games that were played on my hands (less than 10, or 5%). Why should I be rewarded for winning games that I could win with no weapons? You can lose every single real, balanced game and it won’t even be noticeable with the sheer quantity of farming stacked games. You can further take advantage by friending people in the top50/100 and only queuing when there are a handful of them queuing. Obviously this is quite similar to “syncing” and reserved for terrible people, but it also happens incidentally depending on the hours that you play. This is pretty common even in primetime if some people are already in matches while others are queuing.

2) Decay(?). It has been proven multiple times that a great way to climb the leaderboards is to afk for a couple of months, then come back and play one game. Winning or losing the game is largely irrelevant; you will go up in rank either way. The system rewards not playing, so how can the leaderboards mean anything?

3) We can’t forget about glorious sync queuers.

tl;dr Many people hate sync queuers and afk climbers, but the truth is everyone’s leaderboard rank is just as tainted by the terrible matchmaking system that is currently in place. If no one has a legitimate leaderboard rank, no rewards can be given.

Fear I won’t be on there again? While I respect your opinion on the topic at hand, the personal insults are uncalled for.

Not only have I been off and on top 100 many times throughout the LB lifetime, I’m one of the few players with more than 100 games. I just checked and I’m at 743 for Solo Q alone. I’m not concerned at all. But I guess I understand where you’re coming from since you’ve never even been close to top 100. Blame the system.

So please, forgive me for simply asking what the community thought about it. I didn’t know my rank would infuriate you to the point of personally insulting me.

I support the idea of reissuing titles or something for Team Arena, but not for solo q as that is the arena that actually has broken match making.

Nobody should get Reward. Matchmaking Broken / Team Arena Sign Up Broken / Leaderboard Broken. Arenanet did a mistake to Reward People which had alot of QP Points , the old Leaderboard with QP Points was also broken. Dont do this mistake again.

First , Arenanet need to fix everything and then they can think about Rewards….End of Story. I am continue playing Battlefield 4 , maybe i will log in Guild Wars 2 next Year when new PvP Reward Patch is online but i am afraid that there will be no more PvP Players left then. Dead Game is dead and what is dead cant be alive again.
