I have forgotten the existence of this ability, even playing a mesmer since day1, but recently, I noticed almost “every” mesmer, like 80% using this in Spvp, okay, its a class ability, ppl are using to help their team win the match.}

Although, do ppl realise that this is a “win button” right? i mean, how doesnt Anet gives a way to “break” it ? I know it has a long cd, and if the mesmer dont kill you or almost got you killed in Moa Morph you can turn the fight, but its really impressive the thought, “Hey, i have no skill, so i’ll use this Moa Morph to win” :P

Unless you use for trolling, you’re bad for not wanting a challenge :P

Dodge, turn around, press 5 and zoom away, run in circles till it wears off, kitten on the noob mesmer who obviously sucks or he wouldn’t have to moa you.

The only time I ever died due to being moa’d is when I got chain cc’d and bursted by 3 or more ppl at once. In all cases I probably would have died without the moa anyways.

In fact several times, getting moa’d has actually HELPED me escape certain death because of that #5 skill.

if the mesmer is alone you can actually peck the mesmer to death.

Whenever some bright mesmer player moas me to start the encounter I just turn around, dodge, 5, dodge and wave goodbye.

That usually gets them mad. Because the reasonable approach is obviously 1v1ing while in moa form lol.

Smart mesmers (trolls) use it when they’re already outnumbering you tho, there’s very little you can do in those cases, however if an engi supply crates you it’s the same, such gamechanging elites usually mean death when you’re already in a tough spot.

I see, when im’ moa’d, i havent seen the description on skills.. haha, nice to know #5 can be a los.

Haha, that was sorta silly though. Moaing people was distinctly unhelpful insofar as killing them went.

I like doing this a lot, it’s also super embarrasing for the mesmer who moa’d you.

Sometimes an inexperienced mesmer will use it as a panic button when they are at low health, again, peck them to death.

If you are only fighting that mesmer moa morf is a joke. When you are outnumbered in the middle of a point fight and get turned into a Moa it is a death sentence.

Moa exists in the game has a hard counter to minion mancers surely…

Oh a Necro and his/her 7 minions, nope just a dead Moa…(and 1 kittened off human…lol).

I love it when they do this! I’ll just run away / in circles until I’m back to my normal form. Now I know their elite is on cooldown, so I have the edge. If they’re clever enough to use this skill when they’re reaching low hp, then I’ll just kill them with their own elite – hilarious!

It is called “I WIN BUTTON” It is the only ability in game that cant be undone, Basilisk venom use to be like that but only lasted 1 second then it got nerfed to a mere interrupt and they call it ELITE skill…

Moa lasts 10, impossible to remove and will get you dead almost every time.

Moa’s existence is an I win button against inexperienced PvPers or to make necro’s cry when you use it on their lich /plague form, same length CD and it overrides their morphs.

Are you really so bad that you can’t even dodge/block/evade/invuln/los moa’s animation? (Even on asuras) There’s no way to moa a decent player in a 1v1 situation if he still has endurance or blocks up, in teamfight you could get it cause you can’t spot the animation inside all particle spam, but if you’re not 1v1 you can easily escape from fight with 5 + some random dodges, let alone a warrior that can still kill the mesmer even in moa form lol….l2p ppl…seriously…

i’m not going to argue about the telegraph saying “omg just dodge it!” because i’m not that great with telegraphs,

but the moment you get moa’d just run away and Line-of-sight, its only 10 seconds and moa gives you an evade and a leap to make getting away even easier.
plus its only a trick they can use once in 2 minutes.

i can’t even think of the last time i died from moa, but i get moa’d quite a bit, just run, hide and return once its ended, its only afew seconds

Moa form exists in this game solely to screw over necros. It can be used to completely neutralize a necro. It ends all necro elites, AND it kills all necro minions. a MM that gets hit by moa is a very sad MM indeed.

Moa is a weak elite. I don’t understand why people call it an “I Win Button”. Mesmers who use it in competitive PvP are gimping themselves.

just nerf every elite until they are only about as useful as elementalists elites! that will fix the problem

Moa doesn’t mean much. I’m a mesmer player, no other class. I do quite a bit of sPvP. I tried using Moa for a few matches and I don’t look at it as a win button, mass invis and time warp are much better skills. The Moa doesn’t help me much, I was the target of it multiple times. Simply (as someone mentioned) just use the skill that will shoot you in the direction you choose and run around in a circle..

Moa was usually used to zone people out of a fight, temporarily creating a numbers advantage. We saw it less after the condi duumfire nuke necro patch popped up, in favor of the shorter cooldown mass invis for lyssa proc. It was the only way to deal with a condi nuke on a mesmer. Unfortunately engies have the same problem, but with no solution because all their elites have really long cooldowns. Thus the hardest counter in this game is necro vs engie. It’s also why many engies would like to see auto response changed to: “pop elixir c at x% of health”
