Tournament seeding is never about balance. At least the gw2 tourneys aren’t as bad as real world professional tournaments.

High rated teams should play low rated teams first. If finals are that lopsided then maybe your point stands.

And how is this monthly ATs fault?

They’d have lost to someone eventually, most likely first or second round. At least they got to see top level PvP from the enemy team first hand

bracket 1: skilled team 1 – skilled team 2 → victory skilled team 2
bracket 2: unskilled team 1 – unskilled team 2 → victory unskilled team 1
bracket final: unskilled team 1 – skilled team 2 → victory skilled team 2

bracket 1: skilled team 1 – unskilled team 2 → victory skilled team 1
bracket 2: unskilled team 1 – skilled team 2 → victory skilled team 2
bracket final: skilled team 1 – skilled team 2 → victory skilled team 2

The only mechanical difference between the two is whether unskilled team 1 takes second place prize or not, which I’m not entirely convinced should be happening. Objectively, the only other difference is the arc of tension through the game. If the early games are skill-matched, then the finals are just disappointing blowouts, when the opposite should be true.

Only 32 teams was in the tourney, even less in NA. Maybe anet dont need to hand out 500g and a obnoxious crown to people for “achieving” something in a dead gamemode. People have no interest in making teams for pvp.

I’m unsure what the issue is; unless you would like to have fought a bad team at the start, of which, is understandable.

Anet can’t regulate fair matchmaking in spvp so I wouldn’t expect them to attempt a fair matchmaking in AT’s.

I dunno, the match on temple was close till they got bottom buff then rank 55 ran away with it, the match might have ended a lot different had they not got lower buff.

I guarauntee you everybody soloqing in plat WISHED they were playing at’s with a 5stack instead. Finding a team is hard.

It is easy to enter, since basically anyone registering for At’s 20 times a month can join a monthly. The system however isn’t good ,it should be similar to Guild Wars 1, with swiss rounds and not single elimination. People cannot practice, can’t recover from bad luck( disconnect,..).

I’m pretty sure lower experienced players would practice and get better if they could have 2 wins 3 loses/ 3 wins 3 loses from tournaments instead of getting eliminated out of the 1st round constantly.

I do think the best teams should face the worst first for better finals, just have an elimination bracket.

Its not like this is ESL where you lose money for more rounds.

It would be nice if Anet at least had divsion skill caps.

Like if your a gold and below team you play in this tournament and if plat and higher you play in this one.

AT were suppose to help the PvP community grow by creating areas for teams of all calibers. People who want to try out teams and play competitively vs others of the same level is fun and you can see and reach the goal you are going for.

If your a new team being put together get smushed vs pro players isnt something your gonna wanna enter again.
