Monthly PvP Achievement is a Joke
how about:
1. beat CN and Crs
2. Neutralize a Point vs Tank Guard 1v1.
3. Hold a Point vs Ranger 1v1
4. Kill Tank Ele 1v1
5. Rush to close Point on Foefire in Hotjoin and beat enemy Zerg alone
6. Kneel and pray to Teldo 100x
7. Resist to post unnecessary reply the whole month

Arenanet probably intentionally set the Pvp Montly so low, because the number of players in pvp is also so low. The number of pve and WvWvW players greatly outnumber the number of pvp players, probably 1:50.
The reasons for the unpopularity of pvp have been discussed in other threads e.g.
only one game mode (conquest) which most people don’t like, overly high burst vs. tank boring meta, broken game mechanisms (stealth, teleportation, both which should have never been in the game in the 1st place), few classes and builds totally dominating the meta (Heart of Mists is full of thieves, mesmers and D/D elementalists, plus people yelling looking for a guardian). As long as this issues are not fixed, I don’t think pvp will become popular.
I also think the pvp ranks and titles are too easy to obtain. E.g. you get the slayer Title with 2000 kills in spvp and Champion Slayer title with 200 kills in tournaments. For comparison the WvWvW title for killing, Ultimate Dominator, requires 250000 kills in WvWvW. I think the numbers should be adjusted that they are more even. Many have achieved the Champion slayer title or the Slayer title, but I still haven’t seen anybody in the game with the Ultimate Dominator title.

I did my monthly yesterday (1st of february) in about 1,5 hour.
And that should tell you anything about monthly pvp achievements.
Also, i fully agree with deviara.
The “monthly” can be achieved in a couple of hours… bit of a joke tbh. After the 1st of each month most pvpers have no monthly goal any more..
I’d make it something like this: Keep a low monthly achievement, a bit like it is now but maybe a bit harder, and add a new pvp-only system that tracks your cumulative kills/wins/scores etc for the whole month. then at the end of the month you get a piece of random loot, the teir of which depends on how much you actually did that month. So the very highest people could potentially unlock gear that is outside of their current rank, OR just add some new “monthly-only” gear to get people really going crazy for it…
How about we get good rewards for doing the monthly first, before we make it more difficult?

TBH I think it was pretty difficult to get the monthly this time. I did it yesterday.
Reason is: I did pretty much everything of the monthly while doing PAIDs and was proceeding quickly – but I had to log onto 12 different hotjoin server to find an Engineer. Finally I was able to kill the last class and the monthly popped up.
Irony off: Yeah monthlys are waaaay to easy to get. I wouldn’t go for complete matches at all as this encourage guys to just login and wait for the game to finish without contributing to the team goal.
I would more go for:
defended a node 50 times
won 50 Tournys
Win 500 to zero (or a small amount of points for the enemy)
Contributed big time to team effort in Hotjoin (team goals)
Engineer since BWE 1
