I don’t think it is working, i’ve seen alot of dc in ranked game alot and no, they are not changing their class just dc
Recent blog indicated it was being re-added when Leagues are added.

There is still a configurable grace period for allowed disconnect time. The old dishonor system required players to be present when victory is declared, but that is no longer the case.
Bra (80 Guard), Fixie Bow (80 Ranger), Wcharr (80 Ele)
Xdragonshadowninjax (80 Thief)

Have you addressed the old issue of punishing the entire party of a queue should 1 member disconnect ?

Especially if party with dc actually wins.
We all know there must be punishment in party to prevent 1 member tanking a loss for other 4,
But another scanario is if were leading 490-100 and a fellow member dcs. Absolutely dont deserve the harshest -3pt loss and now even dishonor on top
Things to consider on ANet’s side.
F11 → Log out → Mark the player as a possible leaver, may just change toon but if not than dishonor will be deserver when the counter hits 500.
F11→ Exit → Same as above, fast pcs can log back and load the map even if there is some technical artifact that only solvable by reseting the client.
GW2.exe is forcedly shutdown from task manager, can be detected by a simultaneously running service, and ping the server to see if there is internet connection left.
If the internet connection is lost the game can send a status on startup when it was lost and the system can remove one stack of dishonor.

I have twice had games where i was in a 5-man party that was queued up, and due to my graphics card slowly dying (didnt know what was causing the issue at the time) my computer turned off somewhere through the 60s pre-match. as my computer turned off completely it took me a good few minutes to boot up and then get back into the game,
by which time we were still winning even though it was a 4v5 (oh how i miss turrets)
under the system we say last league they would all either lose points or get nothing despite us having won the match, all because my graphics card crapped out at the wrong time?
there definitely needs to be something in place to allow people to be gone for a longer time length, especially as in the past they have mentioned that the time you would be gone if changing char at the start would count towards the d/c’d time (and for the love of all that is holy can we not log back in without having to first load up HOTM)
I’m also slightly concerned about the potential dishonour for missing the acceptance of the match queue, as the fact we’re stuck in the HOTM and can do kitten all else whilst waiting for the match has led to most people alt+tabbing out of the game whilst queued and occasionally not noticing the popup in time. which would only serve to punish the whole team if we all have to then wait for their dishonour timer to run out before we can queue again.
How long is this grace period?
Taking a break from GW2 to play various
Nintendo games..
Appreciate the reply Evan. Can a general range of the potential grace period be shared for a reference? Tied to broadband connections so some periodic interruptions are to be expected especially when talking about extended game play a night. Also can you share any information on the decay of the dishonor?
Thanks again!

The grace period has not been fully tuned since it hasn’t been fully put through its paces, and I fully expect us to adjust it some after dishonor is enabled.
The functionality here is still accurate:
