Look, we all have that one class that makes us want to tear our hair out. That ONE class that ruins an otherwise perfectly enjoyable game mode. Some dislike Burn Guard. Others dislike Condi Thief. Others dislike Condi Mesmer. The point is, when I que up into a ranked match, I want to know what the enemy team is queing in as. I want to see a basic set of symbols to let me know what cancerous meta builds devoid of enjoyment and fun I’ll face. 3 Mesmers and 2 guards on the enemy team? Sweet! I’ll just dodge the que, take the dishonor and save my entire team from a frustrating mess of garbage. I would willingly lose rank to avoid these relatively rare and soul crushing matchups.

Something else we could use? The information that spectators get. When i spectator a game, I can click someone’s name and a little icon pops up. If I press it, I can see what ammy, runes, traits and weapons the player has on. Why isn’t this knowledge visible to ranked players? If the enemy is running 4 condi reapers, shouldn’t I be allowed to know that and swap an ability or two for added cleanse? In an enviroment where trying hard and winning matters, why am I prevented from knowing what I need to know to tweak my build to get the most out of my character, skill and knowledge?

Anet. If you have no plans to deal with this condition meta, at least toss your players a bone and let us know when to go all in on condi cleanse. It’s frustrating to fight some of these brainless condition builds with little knowledge before the battle starts and we can no longer swap ANYTHING. Some matches become unwinnable because I don’t have enough stability/cleanse/stunbreaks to deal with their team. If I can’t even stand on the point, how am I supposed to stop them from taking it? If I happen to see two warriors, chances are I’ll want to take another stun break or stability to deal with their cc spam. BUT OH WAIT! It’s a set of CONDI warriors! Now my stun breaks are worthless and my condition cleanse is lower than normal, making me an EASY kill. OH? What’s that? They have two thieves and I’m on my Ele? Naturally, I’d want to take something to save myself from getting oneshot by a power thief! BUT OH WAIT! It’s a set of CONDI thieves! Now my abilities/traits that reduce physical damage are LITERALLY WORTHLESS.

You seeing how the lack of information can make this frustrating meta even worse? NOT knowing is horrible. It does two things to the meta: 1) It makes everyone run builds that can do a little of everything. 2) It discourages builds with any flaws that could otherwise shine if the player knew they wouldn’t have to worry about XYZ.

I somewhat agree with this, but would go one step further. I would also like to know my allies builds too, if at all possible – not everyone is chatty, and if I see another ele in my party, it would be helpful to know if they were F/A, Support, YOLO or whatever.

So you see enemy team is condi heavy and edit your build to deal with conditions better. Then enemy sees this and swaps to power and so on, sounds like a bunch of people trying to beat each other at rock paper scissors. These changes will do nothing to help with your lack of ability to handle condition builds.

This entirely. In my opinion you shouldn’t even be able to see enemy professions before the match starts.

I would only agree because this is not a ESL-type game. If it was this would be a feature before any match started. However it’s not. It’s a PvE game with a Pseudo-competitive game mode in it. A knock off at best of a competitive PvP environment.

There for you don’t get to see what your team or enemy team has before the match starts. You just have to roll the dice of chance and do your best to guess what is being played in the match. Better hope your luck isn’t too down by being completely countered by the enemy team’s builds. Or you match would have ended before it even got started. Because after all you don’t get a chance to adapt, to the sad situation after the bell started. Because again pseudo-competitive game mode. Might as well be playing dice to see who rolled higher.

I maybe a troll with class.
But at least I admit it!
