Hi,

Something interesting came up on the mists of Desolation and I wanted to show it with more people of the comunity (and btw Anet). We actually haven’t a lot of stats choice when creating a build. These are defined witht he Amulets we can chose.

Everybody can agree that we chose Runes for their utility slots most of the time (Like Lyssa for example), and we don’t use our traits as boost for stats, but for their utility too. So the suggestion to make more diversity possible would be to split trinkets like in PvE (Amulet, Accessory, Rings, etc), so we can more easily choose our stats. Of course, it would need some changes from PvE (to balance the whole thing, being able to have 103% crit damage wouldn’t be the best thing in PvP).

Ideally, instead of this system, we would have a certain amount of points and can dispatch them in every stat we would like to, but it could bring some balance issues (more balance issue).

i guess the easiest way would be simply splitting up the current amulets, a zerker amulet for example could be split into an amulet with 400power, 285 precision, 142 vitality, 9% critdmg and 2 rings with 199 power, 142 precision, 71 vitality, 3% critdmg each. if you go full zerker you have the same stats as now but it would allow to say change the rings to valkyries for more toughness instead of precision. this would not raise the maximum power/precision/critdmg. of course it could be split into more trinkets with lower stats as well.

I don’t really think it can hurt at this point, as the amulets we have are at the extremes of stat combinations. This would allow people to build more balanced without being “blah” and using celestial or something silly.

I have no idea why this has not been done yet.

The only thing that I’m afraid of is that it opens up quite the pandora’s box of changes. In general I’d assume it’ll support power and bunker based builds more so than condi builds because a lack of diversity of stats severely limits power builds and more diversity in stats would be a pretty big boost to bunkers (clerics + shamans = lols).

Another thing to consider would be how much stronger the already strong builds would get. A sword dagger thief suddenly has the option of running a tankier spec mixing zerkers with valks, knigh’s or soldiers, for example.

I would support this change though. Physical DPS is in a rough spot and this would be a good place to start but would have to be considered in depth before anything changes IMO.
