Don’t increase the total stats on items but maybe let people customise the stats that they have however they want. Maybe make this a feature cost glory so that new players can still use the preset items rather than make something ridiculously bad themselves and get rolled. Rune/Amulet/Gem isnt really enough customization imo.

Typically, a simple increase in the number of permutations does nothing to add actual depth to the game, just illusory depth. If you let people customize, to the stat point, where all of their itemization went, they’d still find optimal builds and those would become the norm, leaving 90%+ of them as useless fluff.

Additional options might be useful, but I think it’s a mistake to think that simply adding more options will somehow create more viable choices.
