Hey guys!

Ive been wondering. A long time turret engi felt like the most hated spec. And dont forget LB ranger! Saw a lot of QQ on that too. Now I wonder: Which spec do you hate most in PvP? Doesnt have to be most OP spec, but also annoying and stuff.

Personally I hate fighting burn guards. Could be my own bad since i have low vitality but no QQ from me

If I had to guess, I’d say either PU Mesmer or D/D cele ele, but I’m leaning more toward PU mesmer.

Minion master gets a lot of hate too since people don’t like being killed by AI, but I wouldn’t say it’s the most hated spec, lol.

Every build generates at least some form of hate if the player is good and can kill people with it though. People just don’t like losing, and even if they know they were outplayed they won’t admit it most of the time. If you’re asking this because you want to avoid hateful whispers and such, I would say don’t worry about it because it happens to everybody at some point in time no matter what class or build you’re using.

stun mantra is the definition of frustrating

D/D Ele by far.

I am the most hated spec becuase I want Heavy to beat light classes easily. pure ans simple. Rage./

I run a mix of mantra, pu and shatter so I’m well hated.

I find anything that lives really long due to passives or built in sustain while being able to output very goood damage to be the worst, and ultimately lowers the skill floor of the game, especially for a game that is supposed to be based on territories..

newsflash, mediguards (power) are a joke now, they will fail vs any mesmer they will fail vs celem they will fail vs any necro spec (don’t believe me? try, it you will lose vs any necro) the mediguard sustain is a hoax and its burst is only strong at start as the fight prolongs the mediguard spec weakens tremendously. im actually indeed saying power medi guards are bottom tier….yes condi ranger destroys it too.

on mesmer, my opinion is as followed: if a class has the best of the very best utilty skills….the mesmer that is, it should have the lowest burst in game. mesmer mobilty is hands down unrivalled in pvp and also in wvw roaming mesmer is the only class capable of hiding in towers or sm and portal people in….superroles to have as a class and should not be nerfed…the burst be it condi or power should be lowered by at least 40% on mesmer…cause now it can do all the unique roles and be the best solo and groupfighter (distortion basically says: facetank every enemy burst every 9.5 seconds, meaning being invincibile) the mesmer should be the number one class that needs help in taking others out or the one due to it’s mobilty etc to be the 1 in helping an ally take an enemy out. right now the mesmer has about 95% chance to win vs any class on any spec and has no trouble going 1v2 and is godmode in groupfights as well…mass invisibilty.

Mesmer needs it’s burst damage to be toned down by 40% and I’m being mild on this for imo it should be 60% if this would happen the mesmer could still provide 7k bursts ranged out of nowhere on squishies, now it can dish out 14k+ on armor 3k.

I have been an extremely dedicated fan of gw1 and 2 and pretty good gemstore supporter and ofc anet doesn’t care about losing 1 person…but i’m about to drop this game. All classes seem fine except mesmer…i have tried various specs on various classes….mesmer is just to much way way way way way to much… nerf mesmer into a role usefullness with weaknesses like others..why have utilities like: send 3 condi and steal 3 boons on highst burst class, why near perma stealth and teleports on highest burst class. why ignore all damage on demand very 9.5 seconds on the highest burst class, why free stuns ranged 1200 on highest burst class.

Seriously 40-60% in burst tone down is realy what is required for mesmer because imo the game is close to being over for me

Don’t forget a moa from engis with elixer x toolkit counters the rampage.

Mesmers as a class are just terrible for PvP. Massive spam of distracting AI and constant stealth? S’just not a design conducive to fun.

I take it as a personal POV about dislikes – not about what I find to be OP or not. Is is more about emotions, rather than rationality.

What I dislike the most? SA+d/p-thieves. A well played one, that is. He just slips through my fingers no matter if I outplay him, and zap over to the opposite of the map to do a +1. No class should be able to be that slippery, have that much damage and at the same time have that mobility. Imo. But I guess some disagree, and feel free to do so.

It is not, that I dislike thieves (or find them OP atm – but that can change any second), but SA promotes stealth in a cheesy way imo.

From a longbow rangers perspective I actually hate D/D ele less than I used to. As the fight seems to be a bit faster pace and I know as long as I time my condi removals right I can atleast survive for a long time even If it isn’t possible to break through that sustain in close quarters.

If I had to pick one build to hate. It would be Cele signet necro. My build involves ALOT of quickness uptime. (4 different sources of it ftw?) which makes boon corruption the bane of my existance. Slow is kittening BRUTAL to get hit by. And when you rely on quickness to land your bursts youl get hit by it fairly often.

However I don’t feel like there a passive or unfair build to play though. Feels very much like a fair counter.

hate is a strong word. i don’t hate any specs but i get a lot of death threat PMs on my rabid p/p engie, cele rifle engie, marauder nades engie, signet pu Mesmer, earth d/d ele, fire d/d ele, rampage warrior.

bunker guard and necro not so much hate towards me. but the ones above, yes.

I must say, I was expecting this thread to go full blown troll/ flame fest.

Most hated spec? D/D Ele hands down. Shadow Art D/P is pretty annoying as well. MM necro is disgusting.

I’m just not a fan of D/D ele’s. So much damage for such little amulet investment. That and their seesaw health bar.

I wouldn’t say hate, that’s a strong word.. But the following really grinds my gears:

• MM necro
• Ele’s that constantly heal/bunker/never die
• Insta-kill Mesmer dunno what it’s called but it just obliterates you in seconds if you’re not careful
• CC heavy warriors
• Healing/regen warriors
• D/P thief
• LB pew pew ranger (I main this and totally hypocritical right now but yes, the ledge camping is real…)
• spirit ranger can be a pain

so yeah. A lot of stuff. I guess I just need to “get gud”. Haha.

DD cele ele. By far the most OP spec in the game. It has great mobility, condi pressure, power pressure, sustain, party support, AoE cleave. It’s great at everyting, only thing it doesn’t have is stealth, but I guess it’s just a matter of time.

The proposed ele nerfs were great imo, listening to ele forum QQ was a huge mistake.

I know right? I’ve started playing this build, and while being one of the worst necro EU, soloq is a lot less frustrating, and I stand at a stunning 71% win ratio. Necro is finally fun and rewarding boys and gals!

I play mesmer the most in pvp
When I’m playing condi: necro, I’ll set up my shatter and unleash loads of torment and confusion and burn and then have them all thrown back at me with some of his own on top.
When I’m playing power: thiefs, the amount of times I’ve 2v1ed on a point and killed one and about to claim delicious victory only for the thief to disappear, I take the point and then get Insta killed by same thief 30 secs later as I thought he’d run off, makes it worse when they then trash talk like little kids the entire game.

I can definetly aggree with this. They are not that hard to beat, but pewpew rangers just make my blood boil when they are standing on an edge rapid firing you while you are fighting someone else. I mean…Come over here bro! I’ll show you something xD

For me the list goes:

Thief – Really any kind of thief. I really, really dislike being obliterated in half a second if I’m running a glassy build. It’s especially hard for me because I play with a slight lag that against any other profession isn’t too big of a problem. But against a good thief? That half a second of latency is the difference between being able to fight back and dying on the spot. I also take the most joy in defeating a thief, even when running a build tailored to kill thieves, which I often do because of how much I hate them.

PU Mesmer – Mesmers in general were always annoying to fight because of how TAB targeting interacts with clones, but it is FAR worse now that they can stealth for ages and then burst me for insane numbers, even when I’m playing tanky. Often times I’ll be dead before I’m able to click the mesmer with my mouse, which I have to do since the alternative is cycling through TAB three or four times to find my target.

After that I’m pretty neutral toward most professions and builds. Really my thing is just fighting enemies that force me to constantly re-target them and do massive damage unexpectedly.

PU condi Mesmer. I hate always chasing them down while being slowly killed by conditions.

As for Rampage, I bring Elixir X just for that reason. I’ve even gotten Rampage from my own Elixir X and beaten Warriors while they are in their Rampage. Always fun.

Condi Engi is nowhere near meta.

As thief, anything with weakness spam gives me nightmares. I’m looking at you necros. Some mesmers are terrifically annoying, only the good ones. Fire ele is actually not too bad from a thief perspective, random blinds are annoying though.

Minion master. Basically the new turret engi, except it can move around.

The thread is a great fund of good builds. Only for my Guardian I have found nothing. Which Build hates you the most? Burning Guard perhaps? Thanks for the help in advance.

All of my hate. Builds that take almost no brain to use…

Mesmers in general. Their most popular specs are the epitome of cheesiness, they have by far the strongest active defense and offer very little counterplay. This profession is terribly designed for this game, thief is pretty close. Yes, I’m a mesmer hater but I don’t even hide it, I have my reasons.

You just displayed you know nothing about mesmers. A lot of what you have said is inaccurate at best and wild exaggeration at its worst. Anyone who plays the class or plays PvP/WvW knows this. Seriously you think Mes has better mobility than a warrior, ele, engineer or ranger in PvP? That Mes is the highest burst class, not thief, guard, ele, or warrior? If you want to prove a point trying sticking to facts. Also stealth combat mechanics do not allow for “near” perma stealth, I know because I play stealth. The most misleading post I read for quite so time. If you have problems fighting mes than learn their weaknesses, because there are many.

Bypassing dungeon paths, having great damage, which I understand, their your assassin/ninja archetype, I’m fine with that, in general I hate those types of characters and play styles because they’re boring to fight against. But the thief is the worst offender I’ve come across, I think mainly because well, in other games like monad, I fight off an assassin, he has to go home heal, his cool downs will be down. Thief. Unless you kill him. It always feels like a loss because he’ll be back with dull health and initiative, while you are still waiting on cool downs, making you less effective for the next team fight. Luckily they have lost a bit of their bite since the spec patch.

Mesmers I would say are second, but a very far second.

U never realised that when they stealth and run they wont cap your point nor deal any dmg cuz they need to reset fight? Its annoying yes but thief is nothing more than a mosquito in 1v1. Unless your bad and die from thief there is nothing for him to do than run away.

Not everyone is speaking from the perspective of a Conquest player. He could well be discussing how annoying it is to fight them in WvWvW, Stronghold, or Courtyard in which there is no capture objective to punish the thief for reseting the fight if things get nasty.
