Hi,

I’ve been seeing about 80% of my solo queue matches be completely one sided. As in 500 to 300 or worse. This does coincide with me swapping to Mesmer to main, but this is occurring for wins and losses.

Has something changed with how matchups are made?

You need a large amount of players for matches to be even somewhat balanced… …

Cuz one team draws the short straw and gets a r1x/2x and it’s auto lose since they can’t do anything correctly

That’s because of the way matchmaking works, one team will always have higher rating and thus may cause lopsided matches due to the fact that they outskill as team as whole compared to their opponent.

This is why it is possible for you to lose 2 games and win 1 and gain rank, because the one you won on was against a team with a higher rating

That’s competition for you. Any game is like that. Once the winning team smells blood they jump in for the kill /shrug

This is why you can lose 200+ ranks in a single match. You get a better rated team but it’s all thieves and mesmers against a war/guard/necro/thief/engi and you lose due to class composition and MMR thinks you suck because you lost to a lower ranked team.

And vice versa you can gain 200+ ranks in match for same reason.

No leaderboard that you shoot around the ranks so hard even after hundreds of matches will ever be valid.

A lot of good people quit the game, so the matchups are even worse then before.

The system focusses on short queue times over good matchups. So you see really weird matches with experts and total beginners in the same match.

Had a match just now vs ROM (former r1) and Godess Athena (former r18). We had two (pvp) rank 20s in our team who have never been on the leaderboard. And we won since they had players that where even worse.

Probably because someone on your team decided they wanted to eat some fries.

Its the weekend, the youngsters are allowed to play now. I have seen every single excuse but most of the time its simple trolling. Its sad really since the pvp community is allready really small.
