I really think multi-pip losses for solo q is a terrible idea. Here’s why: trolls are everywhere. I’ve been in 4 games in the last 24 hours that I’ve lost 2 pips for.
First game: Rev freaks out because we lost home. Score is about 130-100 their favor. Rev sits in base and refuses to play and tells us how bad we are in /m and we can’t hit even 200 in a 4v5. Lost 2 pips. I solo queued.
Second game and third games: Just bad matchmaking. I got stuck with the same DH twice who I’m pretty sure was throwing. He got 0 points both time. For one I was solo q, the other I was duo.
Fourth game: We have a DC in the first 2 minutes. He never comes back. We try hard, but can’t hit 200 points. Lose 2 pips.
I honestly understand losing 2 pips for team queue. I really do, it makes sense. HOWEVER, for anything under 4 man queues, I think that multi-pip losses shouldn’t be a thing. In the games that we lost 2 pips, I didn’t do bad. I did pretty well. We were just trolled by bad players.
Losing only 1 pip for queuing solo and losing multiple pips for queuing and losing badly with a team of 4 or more seems like a good idea to me. Solo queuers aren’t punished with getting stuck with a really bad group and teams are punished for not playing the way they should.
Also, as for forfeits and losing 2 pips: I think it’s ridiculous to lose 2 pips ( or any pips) when a teammate that you didn’t queue with DCs. I completely understand if a party member DCs to avoid people just DCing to avoid losing pips and abusing the system, but this needs to be fixed I think. It’s very common to have a DC on your team, especially in legendary rank since certain players don’t care about advancing any further after legendary.
