Block, block, 0 damage, miss, evade, miss, glancing blow, invulnerable, invulnerable, invulnerable, miss, evade, miss, evade, block, miss, evade, miss, glancing blow, invulnerable, invulnerable, invulnerable, miss, evade, miss, evade, block, miss, evade, miss, glancing blow, 0 damage, invulnerable, invulnerable, 0 damage, invulnerable, miss, evade, miss, evade and then die from condition damage… Although this is probably a learn to play issue (since I’m relatively new to PvP) and there are probably ways to actually land your skills but I feel like the amount of ways to avoid damage in this game is quite excessive

Never engage an enemy more powerful then yourself. If engagement is inevitable, do so on your terms.

I agree. There are some classes that have very high negatability, where 80% of attacks towards them can be fully ignored. This allows them to play rotations instead of having to read their enemies or rely on careful timing of pressure. Playing as a guardian or engineer, I’m mostly untouchable. At times I can fend off 3 people continuously. I get access to 10 aegis candies every 30 seconds, that’s up to 10 blocks if I grab them all. If I take damage between blocks, the aegis break heals and undoes the damage (effectively blocking those attacks). If those attacks applied conditions, the aegis clears it. I still have f3, invulnerability, and 4 strong heals and condition cleaners among my utilities and I haven’t even gotten to the weapon skills yet.

1v3 come get some.

Would you feel better if you got to fight an overabundance of eles instead from S3. Every hit will land, you’ll even proc high numbers or land heavy stacks of conditions. Only in this meta every hp of damage will be healed, and every condition landed will be cleansed

:)

You just have to ride out S4 and wait for the DH nerfs to drop XD

That’s a balance issue.
They’ve given some professions and specs, way too many defensive abilities that require none or too little player input in order to be successful.
You hit a button and you block for X seconds, all the while you are able to spam attacks while you block etc etc.
Completely unbalanced, which makes me wonder on what Anet’s concept for balancing the classes is.
If there is no give and take, and if you allow builds to perform big defensive moves along with attacking, then what’s the point of having to make choices about your build,or your strategy,or your moves while you fight.

-Win a pip,lose a pip,win a pip,lose a pip,lose a pip,
lose a pip,win 2 pips,lose a pip,lose a pip…………..-
-Go go Espartz.-

Actually if you die for conditions is why you’re fighting a warrior. I don’t see any other class in that game seriously able to kill you with conditions. At last the Revenant mallyx or a condi mesmer, but they inflict lower damage than the warrior and the warrior can Burst down with conditions.
If you die for conditions against any other classes is a L2P issue.

The main big problem is that the classes are balanced for PvE and not for PvP. That make them good and more or less balanced in pve but totally unbalanced in pvp.

ANet tried in these years to do big changes for pvp. A new trait system, made conditions viable, now had won the war against the bunker meta and we have a large amount of dps builds in the game.
But yes, there’s different things in the balance that make all the community change class to any balance path, simply why they’re unable to make a good balance in pvp.
That’s expecially because the PvP Dev team can’t make any kind of change on the skills. We play pvp with pve skills. They can only manage over amulets and some sigils, nothing more. That make them unable to balance classes why every class skill is balanced in pve and they have to do what they can to do the impossible.

PvP is dead… If you want the skills to make sense go PvE cause that’s where they were intended to be used…

No matter what any PvP forum warrior says, PvP is an unbalanced mess that can not be taken seriously in any capacity.

aoe/cleave spam class design from pve added to pvp… they shoud design classes for pvp and then build pve arround that.

1st rule if want a decent pvp, and pve becomes much more skilled than dodge hits that will take 70% of health(wich means dodge that animation or orange mark on ground).

1st April joke, when gw2 receives a “balance” update.
