Hey all,

[tPVP] is going to be doing a mass paid queue one hour after reset today (friday, dec. 14th)!

By no means are we those rank 50 people who sit in queue for hours waiting for it to pop. We are players who enjoy pvp tournaments, and don’t like long waits.
If you have a few friends feel free to queue up and join us, and if you don’t have 4 other players you are welcome to join one of our groups.

The guild is about helping players interested in tournaments find other players to fill in their groups, and we are always recruiting more, and representation is completely optional!

Would be great to get more people mobilizing people into groups for paid on the NA scene. The reason people’s QP levels are so low on the NA ladder are because every tournament is filled with top teams. These teams are entirely next level compared to literally anything that’s not another top team. Demoralizing more and more people daily.

Groups don’t form themselves. People act like the game is just dead, but it’s because no one makes the extra effort to network, make friends, and group up to get competitive.

Us over at PZ are willing to help groups form up just send one of us a tell, and we can give you some names of some good players.

Also for teams that are wanting to get competitive as quick as possible check out our website which hopefully can become the new hub for GW2 PvP guides. Our site lists the current top specs for players in the NA Meta, hopefully we can get some eu players to register and toss their stuff up as well.

Great idea. If larger guilds regularly posted times they were planning to queue like this, paids would pop all over the place.

Maybe next time make it primetime so I can join?

Edit: my bad, I assumed you meant 1 hour after patch. You must be referring to 1 hour after the WvW reset.

I like the ideas in the thread, if I am available I would be happy to be part of or help run one of the teams for the evening.

One thing I was thinking that would be cool would be to get a big group of players together and then pick captains to choose teams pick-up basketball style and either do match ups in a 5v5 server or a tournament if you had enough people and then mix up the teams after some matches.

I’ve been thinking exactly the same thing the last couple days. Gives people who aren’t already involved a chance to meet some likeminded people too.

I’ll see if we can get our guys together. We ventured into paids for the first time a few days ago. We lost all 4 entries, but it was fun. It is nice to see you pay for mistakes you make, and be able to get rid of the lazy errors you can get away with in Free.

I will definitely be leading a Spill The Blood paid group in there tonight… I would love to see the Dev team in there.

Two comments:

1. In COD4, we used to have “COD Draft” on Saturday nights (because most FPS team only ever practiced Sunday-Thursday in any event), where any interested player would join one vent channel, interested players were selected as captains, and then captains would pick players for teams and hold a tournament. It would be fun to get something like that going, in GW2 although it might be more difficult to determine which team won — maybe use QP’s earned over 3-4 tournaments?

2. I have been considering starting a guild called the “Paid Tourney Pug Guild” [iPaY], which is similar to the concept of the other guilds like iPuG, but is specifically geared toward player looking to form a group for paid tournaments. I’ve had trouble finding groups using the other pug guilds because players are rarely repping that guild, and if I am planning to do frees, it’s easier to just solo queue. So, the one rule of iPaY would be that you only rep if you are actively looking for a group for paids. Effectively, repping iPaY would simply be a LFG-tool substitute to get more folks actively playing paid tournaments. Would there be any interest? If so, I will gladly cough up the precious silver and get it going (or would be happy if anybody else stole the idea and did it for me).

We requeued and got another pop, faced QT round 2. Was fun, but no KY-LOW

Then the patch happened… dun dun dun!
