Watch the NA Tournament of Glory this weekend starting at 12PM PDT, 3PM EDT over at http://www.twitch.tv/digitalprosports Qualifier #1 is on Saturday, with Qualifier #2 on Sunday. The top 2 teams from each bracket move on to the Tournament of Glory Finals with a shot at winning some ascended armor and the WTS with a chance at $50,000!

From the brief period I was watching this, very boring. “Oh look, Overlord view! Stick fighters are fighting it out! Exciting!”

This will never gain any real esport following.

I, for one, really appreciate the hard work DPS, Anet, and Mistpedia have put in to make this possible.

Regardless of not getting 100,000 viewers and so-called “esports”, 150k is a huge prize pool for an MMO and I appreciate the fact that that money is now being put into the game.

Glad we can have a tournament for fun and cash and not need to have 100k viewers to do so.

It did get 500 viewers. Also keep in mind that no “elite teams” were in this qualifier as well as minimal advertisement.

And no my bar is not set too high. I stand for what I said about it. I think this is great and really appreciate the work unlike all of the people, including yourself, that take it to the forums to hate on something that is finally happening in GW2 PvP.

I’m not going to praise developers that completely failed to achieve their goals because they stubbornly clung onto a mode for two years as the playerbase asked them not to.

There’s a difference between “not praising” and being that prick that complains about “not getting my every need” and “not being esports” on the forums.

And “the playerbase”? You mean the PvE and WvW and casual PvP playerbase? That one? As far as I am aware, most, if not every, top player on the best teams enjoy conquest quite a lot.

games weren’t even that interesting today so no surprise there was little viewers.

Once again, who cares about being esports? It’s fun and there is money involved. All is well.

For reference, one of the teams to get into the third-place match today (Team Teamwork) consistently loses to PUGs. That’s the quality of the competitive community today and solo and duo queuers.

Stop the hate? There was no hate in that massage, only truth. This game’s PvP scene was downed three months after launch and has been bleeding to death since.

It’s just the qualifiers though, if the semi finals and final where only getting 500 viewers then yeah I’d see a problem. For GW2 standards it’s not bad, and it’s actually an improvement. Not every game can be like CSGO and have 405k viewers.

^^^^^This. Its a qualifier. we were expecting around the numbers we drew yesterday due to a number of factors.

Well the teams.. how to put it, weren’t top tier. Rampager amulet hambow warriors and entire teams with basically random traits. It’s no surprise that people don’t want to watch PvE players fight each other in the early stages. If you want to do that you can go and observe hotjoin anytime you want.

500 viewers for that is pretty huge. When things start to get real I’m sure there will be at least 8-10 times more viewers. Especially if Arenanet would post about it just once.

Your name was submitted by me personally on Sept 17th. Beyond that, DPS has no control when you get your llama.

Sorry for asking here but did they forget me or we have to wait on ToG finalists to get their rewards aswell? I think I’ve won my llama 2 weeks ago.
