This HAS to be nerfed because it takes actually skill, expertise, and positioning to make it viable. A team running a mes/teef also has to work very hard to build the rest of the team around it and acclimate everyone in the team for playing with it.

Because it is challenging, and people have to THINK to rotate with it, I think it should be nerfed into the ground so the only viable option is celestial ele, celestial engi, celestial war.

If pvp as a whole drops the whole “zerker thing” then we can have nice fights where everyone bounces from point to point, dodges all over the place, 1v1s anything, has great 2v2s, 3v3s, fantastic mobility, etc.

Anet, please, PLEASE Nerf mes/teef so everything is nice and easy for all of these laid back pvpers, no one wants to play things that are hard, please, please, make this game easier .

I’d have to agree, I’d also nerf Necro since other than Mes/Thief, Necro/Thief is perhaps the only thing that can burst a Celetank hard enough 2v1 to prevent it from stalling indefinitely and waiting for another Celetank to arrive and spam it back to full health.

Let’s face it, these poor Cele Engineers are already so squishy that having to deal with things like Mes/Thief and Necro is just unfair. Also, please nerf Fire/Air because its passive damage, but 25 might stacks is clearly active and extremely hard to stack.

Mesmer and Thief are significantly harder, and always have been significantly harder, to play than any engineer.

Okay maybe not the first month where heartseeker spam was how you won the game but after that!

Then.. which class is hard? None? Because mesmer is not hard if its against anything except thief; They can safely stay at 1200 range and do their DPS like a better version of power ranger.

Thief? Thief isint that hard especially acro thief.

In the end every class has some gimmick stuff to be playable there’s no super skillfull build that forces you to dodge perfectly to survive.

Even S/F ele has plenty of invul to carry themselves…

I play thief and it took me one day to learn how to play cele engi at a “decent” level – that is, just try to survive and let automatic procs kill your opponent.
The playerbase is definitely terrible at this game though.

Depends what you mean ‘’decent level’’. Fighting bad players on engi is easy yea, thats why its the best solo Q carry class. You just spam AoE and noobs die in the cleave but against good players its not easy.

You shouldn’t be wasting supply crate in a 1v1. Box Bending is mainly for peeling for your team or as CC. If you’re popping crate in a 1v1, then it’s a waste of a Elite. Popping crate in a 1v1 normally means that you’re being outplayed in that fight, need to end that fight fast before you get +1’d, or to prevent a cap/full cap. Other than that I feel that’s just poor skill management. This goes for like any high utility skill, people whiff them and end up losing a fight because they didn’t’ have the resources beforehand.

The skill cap on Celelestial Engineer is knowing your positioning and knowing how to land certain skills at the right time. Sure the amulet, sigils, runes, and some traits around the class make it strong, but the difference in how a veteran compared to a novice plays it shows the potential if played right.

I main thief and so far killing mesmers/warriors/necro/ rangers is easier on thief than it is on engi.

That’s because those 4 classes normally shut down/have an advantage over an engineer. Shatter Mesmer/Mesmer in general does well against Engineer. Warriors depending on build, and how well they play can still do well against Engineer. Necromancer will obviously have the upper hand on an Engineer if played right. Ranger it depends on what they’re playing. Survival Condition Ranger, A Power Ranger that can kite well and has a brain, Any Ranger with sustain can give an Engineer trouble.

Ranger is number 1 the most braindead class in the game. Nothing hard about spamming evades while DPS’ing. They just happened to be “unviable” even though they are viable.

People who main ranger generally fail at high skill cap techniques and are borderline mediocre players in general because they are generally spoonfed by how easy spamming dodges while you attack with your pet is; they are used to not putting effort into anything and just gets away with easy things in everything they do.

Hardest builds to play that are truly viable (Some aren’t viable because hard mode): DPS Warrior in general, Thief in general vs. competent team comps, grenade specs on Engi (Arguable, but they’ve always been hard to play since frenzy meta).

Inb4 DPS Warrior just isn’t viable and I’d rather play Shatter. It just shows that people would rather play easy builds over the high risk high reward ones cause of how spoonfed they are with Mesmer or Ranger when talking about DPS.

in fact thief and mes is probably the least positionning needed zerker and easiest ones too.

which is why thief is always the most viable zerker and never gone out of the meta followed by mesmer the second most used zerker , but mostly for team utility.

mesmer is just slighty better then most zerkers, while thief dominate them all

Wat? Mesmer needs good positioning unless you want to be a freekill. Thief naturally isn’t as dependant on positioning as other classes, as they got superior mobility.

I don’t really see how Thief and Mesmer are easier to play than other classes, thats the typical whiner attitude.

In a power meta, it would be possible to make quick plays and wipe people fast to make comebacks, whereas in this cele meta you see teams like The Abjured hold 3-caps forever because they have a bunker on every point while thief and necro +1. Not only that but EVERY class would be viable. As zerkers we would see a lot of mesmers and rangers coming back. We would see the return of bunker guard as a viable on point class. We would still see celestial 3-point comps, but if they get nerfed well enough, they will be equal to the power comps, but with less potential to make clutch plays due to less mobility/no portal, and slightly better at 2v2 and 3v3s than the Thief Mes comp, which is how it should be.

Warrior got to be the highest skill floor with lowest skillcap class, except shoutheal which has a bit higher skill cap yay.

Uh, do you even know what skill floor and skill cap mean?

Both Ranger and Warrior have a low skill floor to be effective with. They are easy classes for beginning to learn the game with, without a doubt. Skill Cap on any class is almost infinite, since there is always some little thing you could probably be doing better.

On the skill cap meter I’d place Warrior at “medium”, with cancel casting and correct usage of cooldowns being essential to playing it well. Ranger has builds that vary greatly in terms of skillcap, but overall pet micro and keeping track of pet F2s (cancel casting as well) and automatic usage skills (such as dog knockdown) is pretty important to the class. There’s simply more to keep track of on Ranger in general. So, depending on what build you are using I’d put the skillcap at, or slightly higher than Warrior.

Spam evade doing large amount of damage = ele.

spam evade just to stay alive = thief.

Thief damage <<< other dps classes
