Necro's are out of control
Oh did necro based teams start winning all the top tournaments? Far as I know it was the same base class comps dominating as day one, was just less faceroll for them.
When Gaurdian, Engs and Eles are no longer part of the comp in the majority of top tournament teams then we can talk.
So basically they new they were op before this last patch and many of the top necros were telling Anet that even they wanted a nerf lol.
So what does Anet do?
BUFF THEM MORE LOL!!Get it together anet
We were not OP before the patch, but I’ll definitely agree that we were not needing such a buff. Just bug fixes.

I think he means the patch after burning but before DS 2x damage fix. I’m getting the impression most people don’t realize how big necro got buffed yesterday o.O

Necro wasn’t buffed all that much, Deathshroud Survivability is next to worthless in high level tPvP. If they focus you, you die. Deathshroud be kitten ed.
Anyhow, I don’t agree with the last two AA patches whatsoever regardless. Necro was way overbuffed in the Dhuumfire patch.

Necros are blatantly overpowered at the moment. I think most can agree on that.

Judging from the screaming on the Necro forums I’m guessing even the fotm Necros themselves have no clue. (does not apply to the real Necros)

Diversion, Mist Form, Block, Invulnerability, Dodge, Evasion, etc.
Lol 18 stacks of might pistol whip felt like it barely drained death shroud. Somewhat irate.
Wouldn’t even care if it wasnt for how kitten hard they hit.

Yep they have more DS uptime now, they were already hard to kill. And marks don’t even require greater marks now…
Necromancers were never hard to kill. Every single high-rated necromancer was saying the class needed survivability buffs and damage nerfs. Guess what happened this patch? Survivability buffs and damage nerfs.
The change makes it so Death Shroud can be used to absorb damage every 10 seconds. Basically, it’s another evade. How’s that any different from the vigor, blocks, and immunities other classes get? Remember that necromancers don’t have any of those.
Unless you’re talking about a necromancer who starts at 100 percent life force (impractical) and stays in it the entire time (bad play). In that case, a condition necromancer isn’t doing threatening damage while he’s in death shroud.
Perhaps the damage is still too high, but focusing on the survivability is wrongheaded.

It was a bug fix more than a buff. That said, Necros were also nerfed in a lot of ways, too. Spectral Walk, for example is no longer a viable method of Life Force Gain. Death Shroud no longer fully absorbs the last hit taken. Terror damage was reduced…
It wasn’t all fun and games. Now we can tank physical damage as well as condition damage in DS.

PvE Main – Zar Poisonclaw – Daredevil
WvW Main – Ghost Mistcaller – Herald
It isn’t a buff, it was a compensation for the fact that they removed our ability to mitigate overflow damage through using DS. Now this damage goes straight to our health bar which is a NERF. Not to mention the Terror nerf, and the Spectral Walk nerf. They compensated the Spectral Walk nerf with increased LF from weapons, which is okay.
So learn what’s going on with the class before you spout assumptions.
