Post title is fairly self explanatory. Whether it’s from Death Shroud, Axe, or some other mechanic, if Necro is supposed to be a close to mid range fighter, which the design of Death Shroud suggests, then I think it needs the ability to pull enemies in without having to specifically build Spectral Grasp.

The Revenant should be better at Taunting than Necro, but whether it’s a new Grandmaster Trait in Blood Magic or part of some weapon skills, Necro would greatly benefit from a Push-Pull system where Push > Pull, but the Pull is more pronounced.

As a Warrior, I can do quite a few things to keep people where I want them for melee. Necro does have Chill and Cripple, but if they have Taunt I think that will solve quite a few problems of the class in one fell swoop.

Make axe autoattack a chain and make it apply short duration taunt on the last hit. The weapon might actually become useful and have a purpose.

There is a difference between need and wants. As a necro I rather have foes going away from me while I’m doing damage not the other way around, what you want is reliable soft cc.

I agree with Push being more important than Pull for Necro, but that there needs to be just a little bit more Pull so that a Necro can have the same kind of control over fights that a Warrior does. A Taunt mechanic would make Necro a lot more viable imo

Umm as a power necro I want pull. Push is more effective for condi Necros not for power.

I wouldn’t mind be able to juggle people inside a well while dark pact is on cd.

I think need is a bit of a strong word as well. Necros could use a lot of work outside of including a Taunt but it couldn’t hurt either. I think Taunt would be very useful for keeping people inside wells as well and help control spacing a bit more for dagger builds. That being said, Anet hasn’t revealed weapon skill and utility changes yet and more classes are likely getting Taunt than Revenant as was the case with Necros and Torment. So, it’s in the realm of possibility I think

Necromancers could use taunt, it keeps up with the idea of tanking hits with our “second health bar” and controlling opponent actions, but it isn’t by any means necessary.

It’s not spammable but with the trait changes, Ranger’s Wolf pet can do that. Beastly Warden (Beastmastery GM) pets taunt when utilizing F2 abilities and the wolf F2 is a fear.

No it wouldnt help much because most of the situations where chills and cripples fail is when your opponent teleports/leaps etc. out of your range but guess what in those situations taunt also becomes useless because out of range…

Heck, better chasing tools would do more for a necromancer then taunt could ever do. Something like having the teleport of dark path working even if your target goes out of range…

Yeah i just meant,i can imagine being in some sort of taunt/fear lockdown..espec since this game isn’t 1on1 orientated there’s gonna be more people running around with taunt/fear..I can see the horror.
