Some of the strongest builds in sPvP are those that involve stacking multiple boons. Elementalists have the Auramancer build, Guardians have shout bunker builds, Rangers and Warriors have shout builds. Mesmers, Necros, Engs and Thieves rely more on conditions. (I’m not saying they cant rely on raw damage or other builds but those classes don’t have as much capacity for applying boons.) Conditions are removed fairly easily compared to boons, in fact aside from Mesmers, classes don’t have solid boon removal.

I don’t imagine Arena Net will be adding any more classes, but I have heard whispers of new weapons for classes. It would be nice if either new utilities or new weapons had a higher capacity for removing boons. Not a lot, but enough that a pure boon removal would be a threat to auramancers and bunkers.

Auras are not boons and cannot be removed. But they only last a few seconds.

I think he’s referring to the auras proccing Fury, Swiftness, Vigor, Protection, etc.

All classes should have atleast 1 way to remove boons, it would make the fights more interesting (ie remove stability, then CC)

Necromancers are good at removing boons. Spinal shivers removes three. Corrupt boons will convert all boons to conditions (this will almost one shot a buffed up warrior. It’s decent against guardians, and slows an elementalist down a bit). There’s also a well that converts boons to conditions.

Shout warrior builds are nowhere near even close to the effectiveness of ele/guardian boons. They shouldn’t even be compared against those two. Ele and guardian are way stronger.

I support this. It seems fair for boons to be as removable as conditions are. It could help with the problem of bunkers being too dominant in a conquest game (if this is still a problem for most people, that is).

(I think) the first thing you should ask yourself is why are they even use bunker?

Then you will notice that Anet just need to change the current point caping system. Like if 2 ppl stay on the point you should be able to cap it even if the bunker is still on that point. That would make Bunker builds more useless and they have to put more on offensive builds and utilitys to finish at least one of those 2 ppl on the point. so they (probably) wont focus so much on all these defensive boons

Boon removal might just be the solution to the bunker issue

Indeed maybe just reduce the ICD on sigil of nullification to 4 seconds or something to see how it affects the meta
