How is that overpowered? Condition cleanse is not suppose to mean you take zero condition damage, it helps you stay alive. And guess what, it did.

You assume i want to buff conditions? Based on what? Not aggree’ing that conditions need to be completely destroyed based on evidence that proves nothing of the sorts?
The OP makes a claim, and presents “evidence” to support his claim. But his evidence does nothing of the sort. I’m calling him out on it.

What about 16 seconds. You also have to realize a majority of the damage can from a minority of the ticks maybe the last five hit the hardest.

I couldn’t agree more. It’s really beyond me when vun now effects condi damage but these two don’t mitigate it.

Your mistaking your subjective opinion for that of objective fact. In my opinion, burning isn’t too high. Some of the skills that stack it, are over tuned with either too many stacks, too long duration, or both. The condition itself is fine.
The other problem is that we do not know how many players were stacking those burns. multiple players can apply condition damage too you, just like multiple players can apply direct damage to you. There seems to be some disconnect in that fact. Seems to me that all to many complainers are unreasonably biased against conditions, when the condition builds could be doing equivalent damage output to that of a direct damage build.

I am personally leaning toward being a fan of weakness and protection effecting conditions they way vulnerability does. But if we are cross mixing how direct damage and condition negating effects work, it brings in the argument of armor negating condition damage and there fore cleanses right to negate direct damage some how.

Burn guard is one of the highest risk builds in the game. Similarly, burn engi is extremely risky, as is trap ranger. If you don’t land your bursts on those builds you lose.

Conditions already have more than enough counters, they don’t need more. Along with condition clear, evade, invuln, blind, block, and interrupts still work. Protection and weakness are already extremely strong, and probably don’t need anymore buffs either. I would assume it is so you actually have to spec for more defense then you do now. For instance, eles would just need acrcana, and bunker guards would be even harder to kill. Similarly, cele necro would get tankier, which isn’t something the game needs.

most of the time when i look at my damage received over the whole game I’ve always taken a lot less condi damage than power.

I actually think it is not accurate. I just played a game where the condi damage that I received it one death was greater than the total amount reported at the end. Probably a bug for ANET to look into.

I tend to just throw it back at the guardian and laugh at him dieing 2 seconds later

People are forgetting that Necro’s can condi transfer team conditions onto himself, then could either transfer them back to everybody and/or towards a single target for burst damages… then convert people’s boons for additional condi damages.
That screen shows combined damages from every player. Including your own.
People complain because they received absured burn damages in X amount of seconds… was there a condi guardian on your team and a Necro on the other? Your burn guardian that transferred 9 burn stacks on the necro/minions/enemies, probably killed you thanks to condi transfers. Burn Damage is not the reason people are dying in TPvP. That only happens when you’re against an Ele (r they fix?), Necro (transfered ur burns or corrupt boon) or Burn Guardian (all damages are through burns).
I challenge people to actually post “Top Skills by Player” and see exactly where these “OP” burns are coming from.

I actually don’t really have an issue with burns. theyre fine on the ranger, engie and guard. of the three, burn guards are probably the least effective in the higher mmr bracket. I still feel ele’s fire attunement needs more nerfs, there are just too many sources of burning.
Wait, we’re still arguing about this? Wasn’t the consensus reached long ago? Burn is op in the sense that it ticks for way more per stack as compared to other conditions. Period. There is no argument to justify burn damage.
