Let’s start with this simple quote:

@Jonhatan Sharp
•Balance. Really, balance is pretty good. We’re very observant of the meta, we read the forums, and we’re playing the game with you. We don’t want to make knee-jerk balance decisions. And if did whatever the community wanted, what would happen to balance? How many threads are basically: “NERF X OMG!!” “Learn to play , X is fine” “Omg no, we can’t beat X at all!” “Just saying, none of the people I know even run X anymore” “Hey you guys forget X, let’s buff Y!”….then this just repeats over and over. We can’t just do exactly what players ask for in relation to balance, because different players at various skill levels view balance differently. So what we do is balance community feedback with gameplay results. We don’t want to play whack-a-mole with balance, so we don’t just nerf/buff everything as soon as someone posts about it. It would ruin the game if we did. We try to be patient, see if the meta fixes itself (because a lot of times, once you learn how to deal with something, you realize it may not be as imba as you first thought), and then make long-lasting balance changes. We don’t want to nerf X, then realize no one uses it, and buff it again, then have to nerf it again, etc. etc.

Basically is pointless to cry for nerfs on the forum everytime, it’s much better to get out there and practice because…you can’t nerf good players , doesn’t matter what your whining may bring you, developers nerf something and buff something else, good players are those who adapt quickly, so no amount of nerfs will allow a baddie to beat an experienced player.

Calling this an issue of profession imbalance is a bit of a red herring. The issue is that players, especially those of lower skill level, are dissatisfied with the balance based on their experience. The issue that causes these players isn’t one of balance but of the structure of pvp, and this issue shouldn’t be gleaned over by trivializing these player’s complaints.

What ANet needs to do a design or restructure the casual metagame to better accomodate these players and prepare them for higher skilled players. Hotjoinand sPvP is currently is good for nothing but farming glory with glass cannon builds, so of course newbies who are unable to enter tournamnets will get the sort of impression of balance that they do from playing these modes. There needs to be a mode to help these players get to the level of experienced players.

Finally someone with a brain…whining for nerf is far more easy than learning how to counter someone, and people usually choose the easy way…or at last…kids do, PEGI 18+ would be really appreciated…this would cut a rough 90% whiners imo..

I think there is a huge difference in how and why people whine.
You may cry “OP” over something, and then you can say something doesn’t require a brain to be effective.

Big benefit from little setup is what I want/prefer to avoid, while I don’t mind the slightest that there are some strong builds that require setup and skills (within sensible limits).

On top, some professions/speccs have a high entry-skill-level. Understanding your own potential and exploring your class is most likely where I see the most people failing. Hopefully that gets better.

QFT. The whole sPvP experience has to be more streamlined.

i’d say just a thing…..

Check profiles of people asking for nerfs…..
just for a quick credibility check >.>

GW2 balance:
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.
