Buff thief and it’s solved it has always been mesmer weakness they by desing counter mesmer eaven now only atm they do 2 low damage and also suvive. Only reason mesmers are so dominent is that there are no thief’s (when cats are gone mouses have party)

All I’m saying is there is no point of nerfing mesmer before thief is broght up on scale with other classes it will balance mesmer out also.

So what would you suggest? Even more out-of-stealth burst? Or more dodges? Or 5s CD steal? Thief is balanced, IMO. Mesmer, or at least chrono, is not.

More like give them some stability some block on staff make sword 2 secondary skill back to stun break heartseeker back into evade . And generaly give more accessibility to vunrebility

Or they could just make other game modes where it’s not as beneficial to just sit on a node and spam your defenses.

never the less thief still needs buffs also warrior needs buffs my idea is berzerker mode trait what makes ur attacks unblockable and ignore blind it shood be enough

you’re suggesting going back to the days of thief being a hard counter to Mesmers? No, just no. The issue at hand is with a specific build in sPvP, not the class itself. Making thief a hard counter to Mesmer (again) pretty much revert everything back to pre-Robert Gee trait revamp and make Mesmers not viable in competitive play.

I can sympathize why thieves would want that way because they use to hold that dps spot and pretty much made Mesmers, Necros, Rangers non-viable. Many even told Mesmers l2p. What comes aroaund goes around I guess.

The idea to make thief a counter to mesmer is good. The problem is how to make it without overpowerign thiefs and hurtign other classes to much.

Well an unblockable heavy attack from a thief out of stealth would help.

OR:
Staff Nr2 gets: deal double damage to targests with alcatricity.

Thief still counter mesmer in individual fight. Only that spvp is NOT 1vs1, it is about capturing and holding points. The reason why thieves are bad in spvp is not because they are weak fighters or anything, but because their skills are not suited for holding points (although a good thief can still make himself useful using his mobility). It has nothing to do with mesmers.

Oh, and mesmers are not really dominant in a world where DHs and Revenants exists.
