There seems to be a polarizing opinion of the newest dragon finisher shown off. I believe most of people’s expectations were going to be a plant dragon finisher to go with Heart of Thorns rather than a Wyvern head. On top of the gigantic size, most other peoples’ concerns come from the expectation that it’d make some people drop frames due to its intricate design.

I know Arenanet worked kitten this finisher, and I don’t mean to discredit their work or cast it away as nothing, but what about using the same model as the tutorial Sylvari boss. The plant dragon within the dream. You could use that model and have the same animation as the current dragon, but instead of lightning it could just be vine particles.

This way you can satisfy both parties by keeping it less flashy, but still offering uniqueness for those who want some Heart of Thorns related.

I’d love to hear your opinions.

I’m not to sure what they were thinking with this whole idea, really what is the point in having 10 new finishers when there are so many rank 80 now who will mostly only use dragon finisher anyway, I do not see this as a reward, I see it as 10 reward tracks earning finishers I do not want until I can get another dragon finisher (which btw is far to OTT)
Once again this seems like another poorly implemented system, which will prob get reworked 3 times over the next 2 years, I’m not excited for it at all.

Uh, you realize you don’t need to activate said reward track, yes? The implementation is fine, and actually pretty awesome to have new reward tracks to work for in the long term. I’m sure many will have the same thoughts. There is literally no harm being done to you.

Rather, the dragon animation is a bit too flashy. I think the best option is to tone down the flames coming out.

I’d honestly prefer a sleeker more elegant finisher much like the phoenix one, not only cause the crazy particle effects but because it would just look nicer imo.

It sucks, its way to big and is simply crass.

I wasn’t impressed with his passive aggression towards me right out of the gate, what goes around comes around.

They should increase max rank to 160 or something. Better than giving them via reward tracks

Well considering all you really did was talk trash about the game and it’s “poorly implemented systems” and you just complained about everything instead of trying to be constructive he essentially gave you the expected reply. At least his reply actually had valid points in it as plenty of other people are excited for the reward tracks but hey if you don’t like it fine, don’t use it. He just explained the simple concept to you, that’s all.

I’m really sorry, and I don’t mean to discredit the artist’s work, but I’m also not pleased by the new finishers for all the reasons people have already detailed.

Personally, I’m also not that keen on the heavy jungle theme. I realize this expansion is all about a jungle dragon, but when it comes to finishers, I wish they had a somewhat more diverse theme.

I also wonder if, in the case of pvp, a rank cap increase may have been more interesting than just adding the new finishers to new reward tracks (though I haven’t thought that through, it’s more of a question than an opinion).

No that logic states that just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s wrong and Anet did a poor job implementing it. In case you haven’t noticed the game doesn’t revolve around you or any other single player and if Anet took out or changed something everytime someone complained they’d have to continually remake the entire game because there’s always someone unhappy. Also as for your voicing of this matter there is a fine difference between just posting complaints on the forums and giving constructive criticism that actually helps the game and opinions on how you thought it could have been better implemented. Saying “I don’t like it” does absolutely nothing to help Anet or the game so it will in no way advocate your point at all.
