New Matchmaking broken?
I have the same problem. 80%+ loss rate at the moment. Most of them total blowouts. Only 1 win in the last 10 games and it was barely won :/
same, my win loss was 50% overall.
Today i have won 2 games and loss 18.
wont be playing rank pvp ever again. I have said that before but this time i mean it.
edit: I will give it another go today, maybe i can get 18 wins in a row

idk how you are losing games, i won every game so far

Same bad games for me atm. Every game my team have like 2 useless players that lose every 1v1 and die in teamfights in like 3-4 sec. Hope it’s getting better soon.
The new system matches people up by their rankings in the league, rather than MMR. That “50% win rate” system doesn’t apply to this league. As a result, this first day or two is going to be a bloodbath.
But after that day or two, the real killer players are going to be long gone from Amber, and even Emerald, their wins carrying them up the league ladder. The players remaining in Amber are going to be generally weaker, and the matches will become more competitive as a result. So if you’re struggling now, either you can try to power through it (since losses in Amber really don’t do anything anyway), or you can just wait a day or two for the leagues to settle and for the better players to move up the ladder.
This system we have now is more skill based system so for the first week i believe the matches are gonna be kinda unbalanced. You can always try to become a better player tho.

I’ve played one so far and won it easily. But I can see that some people are going to struggle right now. Since everyone is starting from scratch, you can’t expect good match making yet. My match was incredibly one-sided.
If you’re getting frustrated, I recommend waiting a bit before playing ranked, when the mmrs have balanced out a bit.

me being a better player is not going to make my team better,
They are dropping in 1 v1 fights in under 10 seconds,
I am always in the top 3 of my team if i play to win and i am sick of it. why cant i have a team that carries me for once.

you just lost all credibility, any half-decent player knows personal score doesn’t mean crap

This season uses your personal mmr to match you with your teammates and then it uses league placement (division and pip range) to match you against your enemies. So basically you are playing with players who are almost as good and a bit better than you against some random mmr team from amber division when you begin this season.

that’s working as intended since your MMR is high, you get put together with 4 other players with high MMR.
then match making just fetch 5 other amber players to fight against your high MMR amber team.

So basically the fact that you still care about the rank points shows that you’re not really an experienced pvp players.
That rank point literally means nothing.
If a good player bunk a node 1 v 2 for a long time, he’d definitely not get many rank points, but he’s actually “carrying” your team to the maximum, and probably the best player in your team, yet not reflecting on his rank points.
So many of you don’t read. matchmaking is based on pips. Currently, most people are just starting, so a player with super high mmr can easily be teamed with low mmr because they have the same number of pips right now.
If you are losing most matches, either you are not as good as you think, or you just have extremely bad luck

What could possibly be wrong with this if they dont reset MMR at start of season? Explains my 80% loss rate. I had tanked a lot of MMR when I went for class wins after legendary in season 1.
ArenaNet dumped everyone onto level 1 at the start so now you have
level 1 who already won 15 matches << the hardcore players type, and then there are level 1 who just log in today who then got match up with all the level 1 who been playing since 12 hour ago but who isn’t clueless about the matches who play pvp for long time like this original post is describing. And then there are those who are totally clueless … so they dumped everyone together … nice. BTW you also have those who just come to do their dailies … elementalist who stand in one spot using skill 1 only type …

Getting rid of MMR has been really unfun. Every match is one sided. This isn’t pvp anymore, and this is the opposite of ranked.
I agree with so much of this. I have 400 ranked games played and thousands unranked. Been playing since beta. Yet I’ve only won a single game out of 10 tonight when that wasn’t the case before. Sorry, but I can’t carry my whole team. I’m just one Thief, which may be the issue.
Had I been playing Scrapper, I’d probably be fine.

I know this,
But If a player is getting killed in under 10 seconds in a one v one is he helping? If a player is not fighting on cap points is he helping? Why do people think points are irrelevant?
Im the one taking the the capture points in a 1v1, i am the one bunker holding the points 1 vs 2 long enough for a team mates to come and get the kills, i am the one killing the the 25 point beast both on my side and enemy side. i am the one that can last a whole round with no deaths therefore im on the battle field contributing more and thus getting more points, I am the one that is involved in every crucial mid cap defence picking up points from kills, and not running of to far to cap only to die and lose the cap a second later.
so yes points are a good indicator of how well you are doing, not 100% but its the best we have.
