We’ve included a few changes that we suspect will help, but don’t yet have metrics on how successful those changes have been.
That said, we have plans to resolve this issue as part of a pretty significant refactor and restructure that we’re well into, but that won’t be ready by year’s end.

Just wondering if there is a reason why making sure there’s a full team (that is ready-checked) hasn’t been added yet? Is it because it’s hard to do or it’s not something you agree with? Idk maybe since I don’t understand code i’m overestimating but are ready checks hard to pull off?
I believe its impressive changes, been having very good matches since patch and climbing alot cause its none abusing the system anymore.

Well I’m going to keep playing just because you said that, at least some form of solution is finally coming for 4v5’s and that makes me a happy little asura
I will keep playing to. I have been playing with similar problems, it was just one of those “Really???” moments that the very first game was like that. I know the patch was not a direct intent to fix the 4v5 issue, but rather focus on a different issue and that is appreciated. I would assume the algorithms intent is to create close games on a 5v5 status, which makes having a team with one person missing increasingly more difficult for that team to amount a win
It just seems like one of those “putting the cart before the horse” problems. No matter how much work is put into getting MMR/Leaderboard fixes in play, all the work can instantly be dismissed every time a game starts without both teams having a full team.
I think I can speak for many when I say that I look forward to a fix for “4v5” more than any fix the sPVP team has ever put into the tournament scene…
