New PvP Changes
They are attempting to make the grand master choice actually matter to have to make a choice (or having a choice for that matter) should be part of the build process.

Not only this, but they sort of need to to counteract the power creep a bit.

Might be biased here, but Blood tree on Necro is pretty bad still but that’s kind of off topic at this point.
I do feel like we need more difficult choices in building though overall.

This question defines the one concern in my post. Denying Warriors the choice to take both Merciless Hammer and Burst Mastery will eliminate their only viable DPS build “The Good Old Fashioned Hambow” and render the class stuck with fat bunker builds that splash around casual support DPS, with little to no CCs mind you.
I find it strange that the warrior will be the stronger point holder over a guardian and that the guardian will be a much much stronger DPS than the warrior. That doesn’t make sense to me ^^
For those of you who didn’t REALLY take the time to review the changes, let me give you a summary of what is going to happen. Of course this is without knowledge of what new utilities and elites will be added but never the less, this is how it will effect the current meta:
- Guardian ~ Not much bunk added here but a lot more ability to DPS
- Warrior ~ More bunk added, Hammer nerf, No change to other weapons
- Thief ~ PS & Ex godmode activated, S/D will no longer stand up
- Ranger ~ All positive changes, kittening will shift from turrets to rangers
- Engineer ~ Cele/Rifle still dominant, small power creep will occur
- Necromancer ~ Power Necro will be feared once again
- Elementalist ~ Receiving nerfs & buffs all in the right balance to = balance
- Mesmer ~ Long needed buffing finally happens
One could say that “Warrior” is getting nerfed the most.
