New beginner or mid tier level tournament
How about a tournament where everyone is a free agent and are randomly assigned into groups of 5 to compete against each other?
Oh wait, we already have that.
Yeah the only problem with pugquest is it is farmed by ESL winners.

I’ve never seen a single member of abjured in it, I also rarely see members of the top 4 teams there either – not sure where you’re getting this from.

check EU pugquest
Not to mention I’m talking teams not pugs. Pugquest is all pugs or teams of 2 that are then filled with pugs to fill out the roster. This is pure 5v5 pre made teams.
I think it would be very interesting to have a tournament with teams of players of only 1 class (e.g. a match would be 5 mesmers vs 5 warriors).
The way gw2 is designed, any class can “in principle” fill any role (roaming, team fighter, bunker) and thus such tournaments would make sense and would allow builds we rarely see otherwise.
There could be a limitation on “builds have to be different” (to avoid 5 cele D/D ele). So there should be at least 3 different builds used (2 builds being different if they have different weapons, different amulet and different traitlines).
I would enjoy a lot watching those.

I’ve played with keyboard turners, skill clickers, and a pregnant mothers… that kitten ain’t farm-able.

Actually the OP is completely correct. We still haven’t heard enough about leagues. I wonder if it will help.
Hopefully will have the rules up tonight for the beginners tournament.
Respectfully tell me what you guys think. I’m not interested in comments that can not be considered respectful or constructive.
I still feel it sad that “class stacking” is so regulated. I understand that because of imperfect balance, class stacking could be seen as an exploit. But at the same time, in a game like gw2 where all classes can perform any role, it feels counterproductive to prevent it. Allowing class stacking but preventing “build stacking” (which is already partly introduced in those rules) would make more sense to me.
You can honestly blame d/d eles for much of the class stacking or build stacking rules that you see in most tournaments not just this one I am thinking of.

Suggestions, comments. Positive or constructive feedback wanted.
This is a tournament for newbies. I honestly doubt class or rune restrictions matter much.

You might have a good point there. I will consider changing those two rules. At the very least I think I will change the rune rule because I completely agree there.
taking out the rune restriction. Lining up some last minute rewards then will publish a tournament as a trial run.
I’m putting this plan on hold for now but I have saved the rules.
