Fun, I agree, but I have to say, I don’t think the game needs more Conditions before a new boon (if anything at all) plus it’d cover another slot protecting conditions. Have to be cautious of that. That said, Blood Line Champions had this type of taunt, and it was fun in that type of game.

I don’t think it needs new boons either.
I think it needs a re-evaluation of the balance between damage conditions and control conditions.

Somewhere down the road when we’re in a better position to mix things up ideas like this should come in. It’s cool in other games.
Even better if in a year we saw the Dervish come back.

Also if they started this while “tanky, attack me!” role, Toughness would have to mean a bit more than it does currently, but that’s just kind of my opinion. No one really has the ability to face tank like a typical “tank” does unless they’re max vigor and dodge spamming or something. This sort of thing just wouldn’t work on say a Warrior, because it’d almost be their doom haha.
That said, if I may, a small skill-based revision?
Taunt – Causes the enemy to target you, and move toward you.
Difference being, it’d literally rip the threat from someone else for the small duration, but they could NOT move, but if trying to move, they’d run toward the taunter. Kinda has some active counter play but still VERY solid.

Nearby enemies target you, and CANNOT switch targets until the boon wears off. This will be a short lived boon, averaging just a few seconds, while the more extreme cases would last 5 or so seconds. This would be good for bunkers, although, I don’t they need any more help as they are.
Omg, do this! It would be a perfect fit for Warriors and would be an excellent and flavorful way of giving them a unique role on a team.

It doesn’t have to force ALL attacks on you. Maybe anything that “requires” a target would be forced on you.
Heck it doesn’t even need that. All it needs is that all nearby foes run towards you ala fear. Because this is powerful, it would require a short duration, something akin to an AOE fear. The whole point is that there is a little more team play in the game. I think… :/
You’d have to be careful who to give it to though, maybe Warriors and Engineers would be good at it since they seem to be more “aggressive.”

I love this idea, actually. Necros have their unique condi that is Fear. Perhaps having Taunt would bring warrior to the same level with other 7 classes

Good idea! Should also be unblockable and immune to stun breakers. I think they should just do away with ‘fear me’ and replace it with this version of taunt (maybe make a single and aoe version). Maybe make it so its a ‘fear’ that runs towards the caster. And give it something else like vulnerability too.
I’m all for anything that makes melee more viable.
Actually this would bring back the aggro system and tanks, something that GW2 is against.

“Taunt” mechanic is already there in the world of GW2.
There’s an event in Vandal’s Claim (Brisban Wildlands), Defeat the sinister triad, in which Bandit Chief Thorne (basically a Guardian with sword & shield) “taunts” you towards him, just like a pull, and for 1-2s you have a debuff called “taunt” (you can always use stability to break the control).

It works just like fear, but taunt makes the target run towards you. The target does not get to use any skills and cannot freely control their character until the condition is removed or the stun break has been activated.
Unlike fear, Taunt condition makes the target run at a specific direction: You. If you strafe around, the taunted target will turn to move towards you.
This condition is perfect for a warrior shout: “Coward!”.
Fear does make you run at a specific direction. Its directly oposite to the fear caster.
Yes! More conditions is exactly what this game needs right now!
