Guild Wars 2

New to GW2 got a character level 35 before stopping playing for a while, started playing again and notice I had a level 80 boost from buying HOT so used it on a thief but now have no idea what i am doing at level 80 so been looking for a friendly pvp guild to help me a little and to just enjoy what looks like really good pvp from what I’ve seen.

I can not help you with a guild but about the level 80 part, in PvP it does not matter if you are level 1 or 80. In pvp there is no level.

Yeah, when you enter pvp (Heart of the Mists [HotM]), you have access to pretty much the same equipment/abilities as everyone else. So it’s more or less an even playing-field.

You have a ‘separate’ build in pvp then you do in pve. You can access it by clicking on the helmet icon at the top of your UI while in HotM.

Cant figure out how to do WvW, found some pvp and just seems like arena’s and stuff, was not to keen on that

Another quick question, if your not level 80 and go into pvp can you level up there?

Not directly, but you get tomes of knowledge from reward tracks. Those level you up and everyone who does a lot of pvp has more than they need

And just FYI, in WvW everyone does have different gear than one another, because WvW uses the same gear system as PvE. It’s not meant to be balanced, it lives on chaos.

Yeah, WvW isn’t the same as sPvP. In WvW your PvE gear does matter and I also think that you have to unlock your masteries by leveling, specific WvW traders and/or finding hero challenges in WvW or PvE. Pretty obvious that I don’t WvW much right? There is a WvW category in these forums, they should be able to answer more WvW questions.
