I believe this is the same map they showed us before in that stream with all the new maps/ideas they are working on.
Looks a bit like 2 bases with guild lords and a circle in the middle for the morale boost flag? :p

Hopefully with a Lord (kill to win) and a few NPC’s that buff your team as long as they are alive.

With the flag in the middle you would want to get that buff and then all rush mid. Shortly after you realize there are just 5 enemies, 3 of them sneaked by and are killing the NPC that buffs your respawn time. When you get there, they have killed that NPC and your respawn time is now always +10 seconds. You kill those three but lost the battle in the middle as well. Now a small force of yours is trying to sneak by to kill there other NPC’s, one of which buffs defense for all group by 33% (something like an always on protection as long as the NPC lives) to get a chance. In the meanwhile, the rest is defending at the castle against 8 attackers that still have all buffs and get the damage increase from the mid buff. You can just hope your sneak party is fast and that the NPC’s you are defending together with you won’t die too easily too soon.

Even if no team wins after ten/fifteen minutes, the amount of kills will give points and the killed buff NPC’s will give negative points to your team. Every five seconds you hold mid will also give a few points, so in a stalemate the team with most points still wins after a definitve set of time.

This would make for some very nice and tactical battles, where group utility etc. is actually needed

Let’s call it GvG and make it so, that your Guild can sponsor a group of eight and fight in here for glory or whatever! At least that’s how I imagine an epic battle.

i.e. everyone queuing for the “guild arena” must be representing the same guild?

though i think many will say that 8 vs 8 is too zergy etc. aoe spam fest etc.

Hopefully there isn’t a flag in the middle to bring back to base. Going to be a zerk fest for sure if that’s the case. Might be a treb or some such though. If you control middle, you control treb and will knock down the walls or spire of the enemy keep faster, while people can go behind the rocks on the right side and nuke away.

Looks interesting. I wish you can fight in your opponents castle as well as your own. The map looks a bit small though. If the small dots on either side is flag posts, I see it being a pure zerk map. The lesser routes to take, the more zerk behaviour you get.

Yeah would be nice to have few new maps but i would rather focus in balancing this whole power creep we have.

Where did u get that ? Looks boat amazing and rough. I think it is the map from the stream.

None of this matters if they don’t support it with a queue. Custom arena only is just pointless. And that is what it will be.

That looks suspiciously like GVG.

Stronghold looks like a CTF map! That would be thuper swell if it weren’t for immob stacking! I can just imagine all the P/D or P/P Thieves spamming their zero second cooldown immobs until the flag carrier dies! What a nightmare!

Castle looks pretty neat! It also looks like a blink class’ paradise! Blinks up onto the ledge! Blinks up onto the bookshelf! Blinks everywhere! Hopefully Arenanet will take into consideration how powerful blink skills are and make it so us non blinkers won’t get danced around on that map!

Looks like King of the Hill, or a scaled down version of WvW where you have to attack and control the keep.

I would rly like to know, when & if the new game modes will be in the game.
