Anet, can we please have a title for those who have been top 1000 in the spvp leaderboards? Or maybe give a temporary title for those currently in the top 1000 that vanishes when you drop? I think it’d be cool to give recognition to spvp’ers, after all WvW offers tons of titles.

(Yes, I know the leaderboards aren’t exactly the most accurate representation of skill, but still)

If there needs to be a new pvp title it shouldn’t be another lame leaderboard title that no one recognizes unless they know specifically how its obtained. Like a title when you become a champ on all the professions you should get Ulitmate Fighter Champion title.

Being in the top 1000 is not indicative of anything necessarily. Just running in a group 99% of the time is enough to get you into the top 1000 unless your entire group are potted plant level players. The active pvp player base is small and there are not many dedicated groups at all.

Nah. Current leaderboard means jack kitten of atleast 50% of the players in it. After the SoloQ TeamQ leaderboard split, then we can talk about rewarding the very top. Not by exploiting current matchmaking.

the titles suck at the moment, you get “champion slayer” for doing nothing, thats a pretty cool title, whilst many games down the road I am a “mercenary”

Adding titles is no easy feat.

It takes time to get title changes to editors for writing (any text/title change has to be edited). This can take a week or more.
Have to then get the title changes to writers.
Then have to make sure they work with artists for any visual title changes.
They also have to work with sound to make sure titles have sound for any changes.
They have to work with title icon artists for icons if they’re needed.
They have to make sure the new titles get through multiple stages of QA testing.
Then with the changes in, they get time to play with the titles before they do final changes.
While doing all this, they have to take the current title meta, be it in dungeons/wvw/pvp, and from that, try to extrapolate what titles need to be added a few months in advance.

Legendary Champion title I think is a great idea.
I also think there could me more achievement points available for pvp. Things like:
Trebuchet master: kill xxx people with the trebuchet.
Cannon master: kill xxx people with the cannon.
Lord killer: kill xx lords.
Skyhammer slayer: kill xxx people with the giant gun on skyhammer.

A Legendary Champion title would indeed be pretty cool; I thought of that a few months ago. +1

Legendary Champion already exists, it is the title after myst walker. There was an error that showed ascendant in the GUI, but that is a hall of the monuments title. Actually the wiki still says ascendant for the title after myst walker, but before the new Gui for the achievements was introduced, I clearly saw the title was corrected and it was Legendary Champion, not Ascendant

Let’s call it Pug-Farmer Champion.
