New spvp map?
interesting, but im not sure if the focus should be new maps when we can only play 1 every 3 days
UUUUH – I like the 1 Treb!
Should be a pretty important focal-point for fights.
Lots of buildings, stairways, alleys, looks like some good terrain variety and in a city/slums kinda environment, i love it!

Not all ppl have access to the beta Custom Arenas , and they have to replicate somehow 3v3 or 2v2 Deathmatch , to see ppl reaction :P

Dear Anet, can you please split up tournament queues first instead of forcing your way through with random things such as new maps?

They should replace Kyhlo then with this map. Nobody needs 2 maps with trebuchet especially if they don’t let us chose maps in tournament and force us to play each map for 3-4 days.
Makes us only wait 3-4 days longer until our favorite maps will be back once this map makes it into rotation(I hope it won’t or they’ll really replace Kyhlo).
Or the treb icon is representing something other than a trebuchet and they don’t have a proper new icon yet? I would like some gates and switches and stuff like that you need to control. Would be much more interesting than playing WvW sieges with 5 vs. 5.

Hell no! Kyhlo is great and theres a HUGE difference between 2 Trebs and 1 Treb I can imagine. It’ll likely play out very differently!
Besides, they simply need to make random Map-rotation where you can downvote 1-2 Maps, theres absolutely no way around it and I hope ANet has already realized it and is working on a Solution.
The design of the Khylo middle point makes it a joke in and off itself. Much like the mid point in Niflhell (pun intended).

This map reminds me of "Bombardment" map from (now defunct) GW1’s Hero Battles. It had 3 Shrines ("capture points"), as well as Siege Cannon ("Trebuchet") to bombard the central Shrine ("capture point").

i hope it’s not a map they’re making for custom arenas where you’ll have to buy access to it via the gem store to use on your own custom arena server

I agree here, conquest was a good starting point, but it’s stale. ANet already has a working CTF system as evidenced by their winter special PvP. Why not make that a permanent mode?

Tbh, I wouldn’t cry if Khylo, Niflhell and Capricorn maps were removed, and replaced with something better. That way 2 horrible maps would be removed from tournament rotation, and we would get 3 more good maps on top of another map in the making. Sometimes less is more, so yeah, let’s be done with bad maps first.

I saw the name of a map (don’t remember the name now) I had never seen before on one of the Custom Arenas when they first came out. It was named something similar to a PvE map that already exists in the game. I wonder if this is that map.

That was Brisban Wildlands. I think that was a bug. Btw the PvE area is a jungle, while this PvP map looks like a desert, probably Elona or the Crystal Desert.

Tiny nodes next to which are elevated platforms, which allow ranged classes to drop poo on whatever is sitting on the point without a care in the world (unless you can actually pull them down) along with easy hiding place behind the corner when things get rough. Especially good for phantasm mesmers.
I mean, who designs maps in such a manner…

The Mid-node layouts are horrible:
- Too narrow and small which makes good Positioning and Kiting very hard.
- Hard to reach places that can be heavily abused by ranged classes.
Just watch/play a teamfight mid on those Maps and compare it with Foefire – so much better on the latter one.

As a thief i really like both maps. Can’t abuse the Shortbow that hard on Foefire… ;D

The twist of this map could be that the trebuchet is fired automatically on the mid point. Just a guess. That would differentiate it from Khylo.
