Newcomers guide to PvP in 6 steps
you forgot one step
7. accept that your pug team will get rolled over by premade teams a lot
8. add salt and boil.
Honestly, Guild Wars 2 is by far one of the best balanced games, despite some issues.
The real problem is the time it takes for Anet to fix it.
When hoT hits, it will “only” take every 4 months for a balance patch, which is better than nothing but still too long, imo.
The OP burning is already here 2-3 months but feels like forever..
I thought step 1 is come on forums and create a thread titled “D/D Ele is OP”

Really? Prior to D/D Ele nerf I saw two players who I know are about of equal skill go at one on one. (I was observing) we put a few current “meta” builds up against the Ele and it was insanely overpowered. When even one class has that sort of advantage it destroys the entire game in terms of it being taken seriously. PvP maps that are imbalanced (too much chance, not enough skill) are also a problem (e.g. Skyhammer). Although ANet cleaned up Mesmers and DD Fire Eles, condition Necros are still way over powered. If you want to win in a PUG the best thing you can do is to roll one, but regardless of PUG or Premade they are over powered.
Electronic Sports League is very critical when it comes to balance for games that it lets into it’s ESL One series. If you want examples of games balanced enough to be played at pro level, look at the ESL One series roster of games. GW2 has Go4GW2 ESL Cup series which is not remotely the same as ESL One.
