No Laurels for PvP supporters.
Well I must say it feels quite bad to not get the 10 extra laurels while I pvp everyday oposed to many of my guildies that just hop in a couple of times to get another 10 laurels. Would be nice if the PvPers would actually get their 10 laurels although they completed it before the patch.
This is not Kumatora at all
Full of commanders in hom now u.u Went pug with one guildmate and we faced a guild premade with 2 commanders….500-150 lol free worthless chests for us…even without a bunker…just 3 nice players and done, no problems at all..
Btw one of them was playing mesmer with commander icon on…lol…all hail pve

are u really complaining about more ppl playing pvp?

It was pretty obvious that he/she was complaining about not getting laurels as he/she had already completed the monthly by doing pvp.
- Lets complain about not getting something that you never used to get anyway.
- Lets also complain about more players playing pvp because they are new and not as good as you are, when even better players can say the same thing about you.
great thread.
But now they’re hating cause a brotha finally got some buzz

I’m not complaining that new people are playing. I’m complaining that these new people are playing PvP for the sole purpose of getting laurels. Since it obviously wasn’t intended as Arenanet stated it was either/or in regards to PvP/PvE laurels.
It will get patched and come april they’ll all go back, leaving nothing behind but ruined games for the people who enjoy PvP normally.
It’s poopy but I doubt we’ll see anything given how stingy Anet is with them in the first place. I guess they can say that pvp numbers are up , if only for a few days.

I think you’re missing the point, m8.
The complain is that real PvP players are getting less than PvE-players, when the latter should be getting 0 laurels (if they’ve finished PvE monthly), or at least the same as PvP players.
It’s simply unfair.
where laurel anet
The solution would be as simple as giving 10 laurels to those who finished both monthlies before the patch.
Everything else is unfair.

kitten I hate useless people that actually think this is a thing.
You did your PvP monthly knowing full well what your reward will be (ignorance is not an excuse).
Its like whining about buying something on release, then kittening for a refund when the price drops.

But it’s nothing like that, since it’s giving people who don’t even PvP normally an unfair advantage.
Give one valid reason why giving 10 laurels to those who already completed the monthly wouldn’t be fair to everyone? Who could possibly complain after that?

So you’re complaining that people are playing for a certain incentive. I really hope they do more of this. They should make half the amount of monthly laurels you get from each, but allow you to complete both so you get 10 each month. Maybe some of them will like pvp and keep up with it. Maybe they’ll start playing pvp more.
I actually know some PvE players that are playing sPvP more even after they finished the monthly. Why? because they realized that it’s fun. The PvE and WvW in this game are doing very well, and getting those players involved in sPvP should be a goal.

I guess I am because I really don’t see what the big deal is. The way I see it is that you could replace laurels with anything, whether it’s useful or useless, and you would still probably complain. It’s not stopping you from advancement any more than you would have before.
It’s not like PvE players now have some kind of advantage over you because they had a chance to get 10 more laurels than you.
It’s not like arenanet is saying “we hate pvpers.” It’s just a lot of effort to go back and edit the game to give maybe a few hundred people a currency that most of them won’t even use. Wouldn’t you rather see this manpower be put on other things?

@Follidus
-5 Laurels for each PvP and PvE would be forcing people to do what they don’t want to do, making the recent update pointless.
-Getting new people to pvp should be a goal but you shouldn’t completely shun the loyal pvpers in the process.
-10 Laurels is a big deal, it’s 10 days or a monthlies worth. And if it’s not a big deal why would you care about them giving 10 laurels to people who’ve already completed it?
-Alot more than a few hundred have done the monthly, and it’s not a lot of effort, and it shouldn’t matter if they use them or not surely the focus should be on appeasing those IE me and others in this thread who are outraged by it.
-PvE players will get an advantage, I could be kicked from a fractals group because people got 5 AR faster than me by doing the pvp monthly after the update.

1. Do you have any idea about the “effot” that would take? No.
2. >Most of them won’t even use. Citation needed.
Seriously, the point is:
-Anet change was made to get laurels from either PvE/PvP daily/monthly, not both.
-Therefore, getting laurels from both is a bug
-People are EXPLOITING the bug, and getting both
It’s that simple. Now I’m not suggesting they ban those players, neither that they get 10 less laurels. It’s as easy, as I’ve stated before, as giving 10 laurels to those who finished them before the patch.
And don’t get me wrong, I’m happy new players are discovering PvP, and I hope this last patch and the ones coming encourage people to play PvP even more.
having more pvper that enjoy the pvp
or
having pvper who come mysts only once a month to farm some pve stuff
.
well i don’t know why u are forcing yourself to defend your statement.
Those PvEs might stick around and play if the PvPers didn’t have such arrogance.

Where’s arrogance?
We just want justice. Taking advantage of a bug is exploiting, and that’s not permissible, is it?
FOR GREAT JUSTICE!
I find it very ironic the skill difference between the wvw people and spvp/tpvp people

The exact same reason you can’t buy something brand new, and go back in a few weeks later and get a refund when the price drops.
You did X for Y at the time, were happy and accepted that.
Now that doing X grants you Y+Z you QQ for Z.
