No changes for PvP Tutorial?
on the one hand, i really support this, on the other, it’s hand alt account unfriendly.
i recently installed dota2 to play it with some friends. have you done the tut? it’s nearly perfect, it’s mandatory and it includes nearly every bit of important information about the game.
BUT, and that’s the interesting and important part: to play with your friends, after that great tutorial, you still have to play 2 or 3 training games against AI and then some 10 games or so in some sort of hotjoin to be able to play ranked.
i think it’s the same for smite, lol, etc. practically tut makes esports kittenezzzzzzz!

There could be a “Skip the Tutorial?” Button, but that would probably be a bad way to go.
Back in beta there used to be a “rate your experience” window that popped up. If they used that, changed it a small multiple-choice quiz when you chose to skip the tutorial (to make sure you know at least a FEW things) then that may work?
Also…this was originally in the General forum, but got moved here, so now it shall never be seen ever again >.>
This is badly needed. Sometimes I see people getting stomped to the class-specific trainers. It is sad :\

I rarely ever see players even near the NPCs, but since the megaserver shiz, there are probably times of day when there are :P
I know that they are limiting it to lv 22 players and up, but that’s still simply not enough to ween out those who don’t know anything about pvp. We need a one time forced tutorial like this to everyone just starting pvp.
An explanation of builds and such would also be very nice.
I have guildees that have queued up for 20+ soloQs and don’t know what hotjoins are.
I also have guildees that have hotjoined for a long time, hate it, and don’t know about soloQ. They were ecstatic when I told them about it.
This was all in the past week too…
On an unrelated note… the new players to PvP in my guild absolutely despise Skyhammer. From my past experiences from casual PvX guilds…. they won’t continue to PvP
If Anet’s plan is to make the game very friendly and accessible to anyone…. for the love of of god why is Skyhammer a PvP map? It’s so rage inducing.

I agree, as does probably 90% of others about skyhammer, but let’s not derail too far…skyhammer hate doesn’t fit into the whole “new player tutorial” theme :P
I honestly doubt most new players have any idea how gearing and traiting for PvP works at all. It’s always been completely bewildering to me that they stuck it in some random tab that most players probably never look at.
That was the main reason I think it is needed so bad. I can go into hotjoin matches and spectate and still find players running around with stock traits that have 0 effect on the weapons they are using. (warrior traits have blademaster by default?! waaaat?)
