Useless traits, like the tier 3 double warrior leap that is really just a single leap which doesnt stack auras. ROFL gg
Burning definitely needs a nerf, but ANET will just do it the lazy way and make it tick for less damage. At the end, ele is still going to be OP.
How about instead of nerfing burning they
1: Change protection so it also effects conditions
&
2: Give access to the new boon resistance to every class via weapon skills/traits/utility skills (as is only warrior and mesmer have any real access to it and its extremely nice)
1 would help allot
2 would be incredibly good (playing on my warrior I can say with certainty resistance is frekin awesome)
The combination of both would bring conditions in line easily.
No, don’t change protection. Nerf burning duration runes/sigils instead. Those are the real culprits: 65% damage multiplier.

What are you talking about? it does stack auras. Fire aura leap is 5 seconds, 10 seconds traited. Sure, it sucks as a trait, but it technically works…

Please don’t forget burning is NOT the only issue now, there are lots of stuff that is wrecking this game atm. Engi nade bugs, mesmer oneshotting everyone in stealth while being invul/stealthed most of the times, rampage war and lots more. Basically everything that has no counter to it, the only counter to it is running away which pretty much sums it up for the new meta right now.

Pretty much this, but it all goes back to the poor design of the game from a PvP standpoint. They created a balance nightmare for themselves, and show no signs of wanting to fix the core problems. I could only imagine the enormous check list of things they must consider when they change even the smallest thing, if they even bother to do that.

Meanwhile, ranger slowly floats around in obscurity with minor buffs and a big bug change that thrust them back into ‘who is that guy?" tier. Once burning is nerfed, I cant imagine the ’bleed masters’ to have much else to use.

I don’t think burning as a condition needs to be rebalanced, nor do I think that sigils or runes are the problem since duration =/= flat damage increase (the shorter the condition the closer this is to the truth though). I think burning application needs to be toned down: dodging as a traited a ele can do 5k of burning damage in 6 seconds and that’s without proccing anything, drake’s breath can do another 5k on top of that. That’s all without any duration, I consider that over the top.
They should try to not nerfed burning itself but rather the amount of application or ease of application, the reason is because with conditions now stacking they are all beginning to lose their flavour and are in danger of all becoming a differently named bleed.
Let’s say they take the lazy approach and nerf burnings tick damage,for the moment all that makes burn different from bleed is the amount of damage. You could say a similar thing about the confusion change.

I think burning just needs a cap in PvP, somewhere in between 5 and 10 stacks while having the damage start out weak but exponentially grow as the stacks increase. This way people wouldnt necessarily need to worry about removing the stacks until they hit a certain number. I think it’s great that you have to be on your toes and clear scary conditions like burning in the fly, but I find it overwhelming when Ive run out of condition clears because the target is soley focused on burning me to death and can apply a burn every 5 or so seconds…
As far as other classes apparently being op in other aspects, I bet a lot if you would be surprised with how many traits are bugged in a classes favor atm

Before any burning and class changes, first Balthazar and Strength runes should be nerfed. 45% might duration and 45% burn duration is just way too much and it warps our view of balance. While they’re at it they could also completely remove fire and air sigils.
I question yall’s condition cleansing… I have two condi cleansing utilities and I’m surviving well enough in tpvp. I don’t even have Absolute Resolution…
Furthermore, Ele’s 250 radius burn attacks are noticeable and dodgeable. Am i the only one who doesn’t eat their fire attunements and save cleanses/dodges for just that?
Burns and conditions isn’t a issue in TPvP – Tournament – play. Who’s to say what nerfs are needed?

I got crit with burning on my finger when using the barbaque… Was super painful. Not as bad as 18 stacks of burning, but it was pretty bad.
I know this sounds crazy, but if I wanted to apply a dynamic and interesting limitation to burning, well the more fire there is, the faster it consumes oxygen. Given this concept, you could have higher stacks of burning decrease the burning time. So if you stack 18 stacks, it could cut 1.8 seconds off the total time. So the higher the stacks, the shorter, but more damaging the burn. If you wanted to be lazy, you could decrease the burning time by 10-20% on most abilities. It would give the same overall result, but the first suggestion feels more visceral.

Burning is far from the only problem.
The main problem is the amount of conditions that can be thrown up in such a short duration of time and how many stacks can be thrown up in such a short duration of time.
My solution would help mitigate the issue.
Another solution would be to look at the sources of burning and adjust them on a case by case situation.
In many cases you will notice that several stacks of burning can be applied at once.
If they were to lower the number of burning stacks but increase the duration & or lower the cool down of the ability that would go a long way towards solving the issue.
I agree burning is a huge problem. The current changes were poorly thought out.
