Feels lonely…Why so serious?

Really, it used to be ppl just diking around and taking lighthearted jabs at others. Now it’s only the occasional whine and l2p nub nonsense. I was afk in windowed mode and checked back in 5 hours and only a few lines of /m chat. I have a feeling ‘serious’ tpvp’ers are switching to hotjoins..

People rarely talk in most sPvP.

The maps are so small and compact that there’s rarely time for any banter or calling out of incomings like there is for stuff like Arathi Basin in WoW. =/

well i think because there is action everywhere once we left our spawning area.

Well to be honest, aside from GG and brief tactics, there isn’t much to say.

Maps are small and you can grasp what’s going on pretty quickly. People also don’t really care about winning in hotjoin, so why bother talking?

You’re right. The maps are too small. I try calling out incoming, but someone is usually trying to kill me before i can.

It’s the opposite in WvW though. There is a lot of chat there.

What would be the point of trying to talk with your team in hj? More than half of your mates are gonna freecap with 3 ppl and fight in the middle of nowhere anyway…you eventually get bored of always finding yourself trying to carry them…best way is not giving a kitten from start to end, it’s hj..you go there just to roll not viable troll builds or with 1-2 mates for some roflstomping before going tpvp, nobody cares…it’s hj, kingdom of raging pve heroes and failing tryhards..

GW2 sPvP is just depressing in nearly every way possible yet for some reason I still play it.

ppl are too busy playing.

since they added forced respawn, ppl rarely have spare time to just chit chat.

Maybe you don’t talk a lot in hot joins, but I hardly ever shut up. Half the time I’m about to get stomped I yell “Noooooooo!” I’ve called so many players rude for suddenly attacking me. You start to meet a lot more people the more vocal you are. I’ve met quite a few friends in 1v1 arenas, hot joins and even solo queues.

I got people on Capricorn to pretend to be pirates, and so many people were like “kitten and play the game.” So I sent the mutinies to swim in the shark infested waters with chain CC

Good times, don’t knock the mess around mode!

Seriously tho when I see my teammates calling others terrible trashy scrubs who should uninstall and other kind of pointlessly rude behavior in a clearly non serious environment I usually chime I and try to make them be more humble to the other team.

I often say various silly things while I wait for respawn, plus when I have a long duel me and my opponent typically comment on it, but that’s about it usually.

ah raid of the capricorn is my favourite hotjoin playground map.
i always man the cannon and blow people up with it. good times.

or lure people who wanna put me down to the ship and i play with them there. once my warrior got into a 1 v 1 duel on the ship (other people are fighting elsewhere on the map) the thief got downed, stealth and teleport my warrior could not find him.

when my warrior finally found him, he fled, i went “oh you!” in /say chat.

he replied “gf bud” in /whisper and i replied back in /whisper “cheers!” and we continued our separate ways.
