no it is not. all gear is pvp. custom arenas are part of spvp.

Not a sPVP player, but would like to use a custom arena for WvW training. Would like to know if it is possible to use the same gear and traits used in WvW for the custom arenas?
You can recreate your WvW build in the Heart of the Mists, and use that build in custom arenas.
Yes, you can test your WvW builds in custom arenas because all gear, all traits, all sigils and runes are available to be used in PvP for free. Simply re-create your WvW character in PvP and jump into a custom arena.

You’ll be happy to know that they are going to eventually release Wpvp custom arenas; however the catch is you need to be rank 70 in pvp and the cost will be 1,000,000 glory for the starter kit and 100,000 glory monthly for time purchase…

Yes, there is significant differences between my PVE gear and the gear i see in the mists. Thanks for all the replies, now i will have to give this some thought, i have some guildies that also want to do sPvP so might setup a arena for practice anyway.

sPvP can still teach you plenty about combat so I would still jump in and practice.

no you cant recreate WvW build with PvP for free. You have to realize that not all stats in WvW comes from an amulet.
