Not a SINGLE Guardian/DH in Pro week 7

Don’t you know guardian is in a good place?
[Good spot intensifies]

If guard/dh is so bad off, why am I seeing teams consistently stack with 2-4 DH and win? In my opinion Pro League is pretty much irrelevant to day-to-day PvP.
DH are very predictable that’s why, the trap system is very meh you rely on traps too much, pro teams know how to counter them, bad design in my opinion, vanilla guardian was better and more fun in my opinion, sucks HoT killed it.

Once you come out of amber division you start seeing a lot less guardians. Amber players have a tendency to sit in traps and not even know there is a dodge mechanic

I saw quite few DH in diamond/legend. Your point?

I am legendary (soloQ guardian) and I ensure you that the problem is real. As I have mentioned in this post:
And i don’t see a problem. Guards are nowhere as in bad state as war/thieves were in s1/2. Other elites need to be toned down more. We don’t need more powercreep.

In day to day PvP, DHs are food. Half the time they’re the better focus target over a necro. Then again weren’t you stuck in sapphire last season…

To be frank, I’d be more surprised if the forum’s favorite 1 handed sapphire MMR hell mesmer DIDN’T complain about the noob stomping full trap DH spec.

If you lose to a team that stacks 2- 4 Guardian or Dh then you should seriously evaluate your own skill and contemplate if Guild Wars 2 is meant for you.

…So you were lege/pro player when you started this game? You knew every class and how they act and how to counter them?
I know most bad/new players don’t read these forums but still you assume that if team of 4 necros and a thief for example loses to a team with 2 DHs and ele/mesmer/reve, they should stop playing this game? Why? So they can’t ever learn to be better players?
And even if they evaluate their skills and admit they shouldn’t be in diamond or lege, if they already are in that division they can’t do about that thing anything else than keep playing or stop playing.
We need more players in PvP, so everyone should try to keep community positive and motivate new players to keep trying harder so they can learn to be better and keep community running.

OK but lets not balance the game around bad players. Dh is in a garbage spot atm.

If guardians are so bad can someone tell me how to beat them? Because i get one shot by them regularly on warrior, thief and necro. Don’t tell me not to stand in their traps because i can’t beat them at range and if i try they just pull me in anyway. If I dodge to set off traps they just drop new ones if they were already setup.
I see teams with multiple guardians win all the time in sapphire. The game shouldn’t be balanced based on what pros use because that is not 99% of pvp. If anything guardians need a nerf.
noobs like you are why we can’t have nice things.
interrupting stuff too hard? add in passive cc traits and runes
cc too hard to stop? add in passive cc-break traits
gerdian traps too hard to dodge? nerf gerdians.

You can’t win a guardian with a warrior? How do you even do that? You dodge the first ones, shield blocks alone can tank you through most of the trap damage on the second wave. If they SoJ you midblock, drop endure pain and watch the guardian die because they have no burst left after the traps expire.
Sonya for females. (necro,rev,ranger,mes,engi)
All classes lvl 80.

Ok so U got one of them, and what U do with the other one/two/three.
I know that one dh is easy to kill but when U got 3 or more in opposite they will whipe Your team in no time.

there’s some thing called baiting shield stance and spear of justice that can interrupt blocking…
DH is only bad if enemy has good ele and engi and other enemies know how to use their cover…cuz reflect uptime
I use ele and i am a counter to longbows (for the whole team). Since ele is meta and in most teams DH gets expelled …. I usualy go into a teamfight front up (covering myself with obsidian flesh if focused) setting swirling winds to cover the team aproach + firing rebound in earth afterwards to kick in magnetic aura after winds end (then i fall back to range support and healing). This results in 10 seconds of missile defence for the team and will decide the outcome if oponents try to use projectiles …
And if traps were set up i just trigger them. There was a match against three DH.
I called to the team let me go first …. It was forest and we came up the stairs the DH´s waiting on the point. I did go in earth, fire rebound overloading straight through the point firing obsidian flesh when reaching the point (stab from OL coverd my aproach!)
Magnetic kicked in after invul when i reached the other side and shooting after me was pointless …
Game over. All traps triggered, DH´s focused down by the following team within seconds …

The times a DH gets me is with the push pull trick. The majority of the time I can mortar from a distance, rocket charge, dodge roll, then lay on the condis.
By the way what am I looking for to stop the push pull trick? It’s quite irritating when their are two of the DH’s together.

can you be a little more specific with what the dh is doing?
do you mean the elite trap?
just avoid the red aoe circles and and the dh is dunzo.

The push trick is from one of their longbow skills and can be dodged.
The pull trick is from their passive burn that when activated hurls a spear at you, then can be activated again to pull you, which can also be dodged (and then they lose their passive burn on every 5 attacks till its recharged)
Yes with 2 dh that would be a lot to dodge and very hard to do. Reflects help and so do teammates with reflects, as well as stability.

Any LB ability except 4 and 5. Including autos.
thanks guys… yeah the 4 trips through the whirly blade traps when facing 2 of them is pretty much enough to down me. One of them I can manage, but 2 is too many animations and traps dropping one me (and anyone else unfortunate enough to be in the area).
would you believe it if I told you 2 revs, 2 thieves or 2 warriors can kill me WAY faster than 2 DH?
I suppose it depends which class and build you are and where you are situated relative to them. I can hold off two revs longer than 2 DH’s. Warriors I can simply walk away from. Theives I can potentially kill, to get me they normally have to step into my AOE if I’ve setup for them. The FT wall of fire, the mortar field the thunder clap.. and I can doge roll. While using the hammer whirl or block I do damage and apply conditions. Having traps just AOE dropped on me and getting thrown through them though, seems a lot more difficult to deal with in my context.
