All this e-sports talk is nothing but vapor and does more harm then good because instead of working on things to make pvp more fun and rewarding for the average player we have people clamoring for the devs to waste time on things like spectator mode and to cater to the very few hardcores left. Why is it vapor? Because the pvp population of this game is too low. Low to the point where you will never get enough players playing to have the amount of competitive teams necessary for an e-sport. Even if the pvp population increases significantly which almost never happens with a MMORPG once any kind of decline happens the next barrier of entry will stop any idea of e-sport. Mainly the barrier of entry to high level competitive play are simply too high. You need to have at least 5 people that can all get along and basically schedule part of there lives around this game. There are other things but I don’t need to go into them because these 2 things are gigantic. Lets fix the base game first which is quite lacking and then we can worry about the white whale of e-sport. Talk about horse before the cart thinking this game launched with.
