Hi all,

There has been some confusion around Pro Leagues region restrictions and I’d like to take a moment to clear it up.

Over the past few years we haven’t been able to allow players outside of the US, Canada, Mexico, and the European Union to compete in events like the World Tournament Series. With the ESL Guild Wars 2 Pro Leagues, all players will be able to compete regardless of the country they are from.

Now, even though we’re allowing anyone over the age of 16 to compete, we will still be restricting the regions these players can play in for the Pro League. For example, a player from NA can’t compete in Europe and vice versa. The newly added countries will be added to a region group based on geographical location and language. For example, players from Australia can play for NA teams, but not EU.

  • Regions are defined below:
    • North America: North America, South America, Oceanic countries, Japan, Taiwan, Korea
    • Europe: Europe, Africa, Asia (excluding Japan, Taiwan, Korea)
