Best feeling ive had in a game in a long, long time.

120 ranked games later, 59 wins and 61 losses, I finally made it. Not much, maybe, but Sapphire is all I was after. That was my little mountain, although I might go for ruby over Xmas, who knows?

I sat around 70% win after 30 games and then it all went haywire. Emerald was the worst pvp gaming experience I have had, filled with its fair share of imbeciles and truly skilled players. Had more than a few of those game where you go about killing everyone and wondering why you’re whole team is dead, or a fighting off point and rushing about like headless chickens.

As an altist, I started and junked a legion of professions, including Reaper, Scrapper, DH, Mes bunker and finally landed on Ele Auramancer. after realizing the only way I was going to get there in this system was by playing support.

I have never played Mesmer and went 10-0 after one game un-ranked for practice. That was cute, but it was also pretty dull. And somewhere in the middle of it all I rolled into 13 game losing streaks, reaching the ‘great darkness’ ; that feeling of futility, despair and rage that leads to acquiescence and then, strangely , peace.

But maybe, despite all the pain and misery, it was worth it. By dragging me through hell, the game gave me Everest to climb.

Chin up, my emerald brothers. Endure! There is light in the darkness.

As silly as virtual reality may be, It feels good to fight for something again.

Do what I did and stop grinding and group. I have 3 groups I play with and we win a lot (lost only 1). I liked solo Q but I can’t do it anymore these new players are kitten and don’t even know it.

I’m on the last stretch of my emerald yolo que. Started at emerald 3 and 3 or 4 pips this afternoon, just got myself into emerald 5 with my last game. Hoping I’ll get lucky and hit Sapphire by this time tomorrow, if not a little further.

Sitting at 18/25 emerald now, started at 0/25 yesterday night ^^, going for sapphire too, my personal goal for this season

I just hit sapphire myself after reset. Now time to climb to ruby. If I can make it into ruby I’ll be satisfied for the season. Basicly 5 tiers, 5 win streaks each in the next 6 weeks.

I was having fun working all the way through Sapphire. However, word of advice, take your time with Sapphire. Because it’s not fun at Ruby when you can lose tiers. Watching my 2 tiers worth of pips evaporate day after day, it’s just rough. Nothing is more demoralizing to see all the time you’ve spent meant pretty much nothing because the match system is whacked.

So unless you have a team you play with, enjoy Sapphire while you can. Congrats
