I wanna give my feedback straight back to Anet .

But first here is a question i would like answering : When you had such a large pvp following from gw1 , why change a winning formula (GvG,Ha,AB,Arenas) ?

I just Cant be bothered to play anymore Spvp and not because of lack of game modes (ok a little ) but its the fact there is so little builds to select in each class , it gets boring really fast .

The last patch with solo queues for free tourneys was better..

GW2 really needs more game modes, I don’t imagine it being hard to put in Team Arenas or Random Arenas. Simple just kill the other team is what’s needed.

I think what sucks the most is that they have stated multiple times that they wanted to simplify the game by having only 1 game mode. The downside is that most people that pvp want multiple game types.

Honest that was the best part of WoW pvp and I think a lot of players feel that way. Adding a simple arena mode would be huge. I wish they would reconsider doing this since they went back on their tournament ticket system. No shame in admitting they were wrong as long as they move forward.

  1. thing they need to focus on is balance. Games like League of Legends are huge because they re-balance the game in a massive way often (2-4 weeks).

They have a solid foundation and they have proven they can make maps fairly quick. (Wow I am looking at you). But they really need to start focusing on the big picture if they want more people to pvp.

Or they could have the guys who worked on GW1 PVP do this games PVP…and if it happens to be the current guys that are working on GW2 PvP then fire them (for getting lazy/loosing their minds) and get a crew that actually knows whats up.

It seems to have worked for Final Fantasy 14 lol…fire everyone and now apparently the game is playable again lol…(no I dont or ever will play it..just using it as an example)

The game modes are built in as secondary objectives to the map. Temple of Silent Storm has a “kill the other team” buff that awards more points for kills. The new spirit watch emphasizes non bunker mentalities with the introduction of the orb.

It is conquest that gets ppl moving around the map. It is secondary objectives that add the spice you seek. It is time required to balance the two such that bunkering…or just killing in a zerg machine…do not completely dominate the landscape of competitive play.

Conquest itself is fine.
Anyone who played RA and TA knows how relatively stationary/fixated that could be relative to the rest of the map. I understand why they did it relative to that, and there were points were people just waited hard for someone to engage first before doing anything since the only pressure was the timer.
Shoot I remember Gw1’s little island map, believe it was canthan based with the poison area in the back, you all know it. People fought in the island stretch, primarily, rest of the map untouched for the most part. Conquest has the map’s features not going to waste. Might as well just lockpeople in a black & white hallway without conquest because that’s the amount of land they’ll use generally.
We need better balance, that and CA.

They just need to push the secondary objectives because that is what makes it more than sitting in a circle. Anyone who actually played GW1 knows the problems RA and TA had and should be able to understand why they see Conquest as a better alternative.
But again if the secondary objectives aren’t to snuff, it is going to be boring.

I do agree with you too a point , But There seriously needs to be guild rankings in game like gw1 at least , also a lot more viable builds for each class , these 2 things missing are making the game boring
