Opinions about the upcoming map?
I just hope they have the teleport hacks under control. The last orb they had in game (WvW) involved flying hacks and teleporting. Things were so out of control they removed the orbs completely.
The conquest aspects seem like they should be there.
Probably allows the map to be less team stagnant.
You could build an orb offense/defense team…or you could build a stall team, steal the orb and attack capture points while at the same time making them want to come after your orb carrier if they’re a team not designed to handle conquest.
Allows more strats than just ctf alone or just conquest alone….I’d assume.
I understand people want more game modes, but I wouldn’t downplay every new map just because it has conquest in it.
The new map seems fun and refreshing enough, and that’s exciting to me. I actually feel that the conquest mode could work well here.
Think of the potential: what’s the good of an unbeatable bunker build, if a random orb carrier can just go to that point and neutralize it? (Yes, yes, current bunker eles can probably do both very well, but that’s a balance issue that should get fixed). Not to mention that, in addition to carrier builds, we might also get to see more crowd control and party support builds.
I think conquest is funnier when there’s a lot of movement, but boring when it denegerates to 2-3 bunkers tanking a point until a match ends. Khylo’s secondary mechanics are already nice at shaking this up, and this new map should have plenty of extra movement to make it fun and strategic too.

Because CTF would = wows CTF, fight in the middle.
Why not 2 CTF, 2 Conquest and 2 TDM. Or even random game mode as the map changes in its standard rotation

I do fear that guardian will become the de facto orb carrier for every team, but that’s ok really, there’s always a favoured carrier.

Read the 2nd dev post. RTL will not cause you to drop the orb.

what he already knows and isn’t saying, is RTL either has a long cd or a much shorter range, or both, which is why he clearly doesn’t consider it an issue
There must be some kind of reasoning behind this.
Maybe the heights will make it really hard to use RtL? Unless you want to die that is.

Or maybe the map isn’t RTL friendly with all the verticality and obstruction with the terrain as what I have noticed in the vid preview. Maybe RTL will do more harm than good in this map. We don’t know yet.

Maybe the 40% movement decrease will affect RtL? It would make sense, because it felt like the dev was very confident about how the movement skills were tested internally.
