Other classes should follow the Warrior
The problem with bringing classes up is called power creep. If you constantly increase classes to equal levels then before you know it the game is nothing but 1 shot kills. Anet has said repeatedly that they want to avoid power creep and instead just shave down what is OP at the time.
While I think the reasoning is sound, I just wish they’d be willing to shave a little more often instead of once every 2-3 months.
Yeah guys, bring classes up like you have been doing, it has totally been working out, Power creep all the way. My first suggestion would be to buff ele dps because ele UP
i agree just one thing i’m worried about, the fights will be to long imo (dunno could be wrong, we can only know when we are that far).
but overal for the moment wariors are op compared to other classes.
but nec and guardian are at a good lvl imo.

I agree that power creep is a problem, that’s why there needs to be a ceiling in which no class should pass to prevent it, right now Warrior is a little past that ceiling.
But I think instead of Anet focusing on little things across all classes, like support skills, they should focus on one or two classes at a time like they did with Necro and Warrior. Maybe in the next patch they can instead focus on Ele’s and Mesmers
This is true. Bring the other classes up and you got more build diversity. Give them more access to stability and you’ll probably hear less complaints about getting stunlocked. Once you start nerfing the classes, you risk them not being viable anymore such as ele.

wow you people really think that the way to balance this game is up… The easy way is up yes, but this games needs less of everything. Less cc, less burst damage, less condition damage, less conditions everywhere. Eles can do like 15k instant damage, YET, somehow, they are not viable… What does that tell you?
While damage, conditions, cc, EVERYTHING is so abundant, we’re gonna be stuck with kittenty metas where spamming doesn’t matter because what you missed in one button, you have in the button right next to it.

Bringing up other classes doesn’t necessarily mean you have to make everything stronger. Instead of adjusting numbers alone, you can adjust the mechanics of a skill. I would like to see more traits getting combined and add new traits.

This.
Bringing classes up does not mean “give every class steroids and make everything 10x stronger”.
It means merging traits together like how Vigorous Spirits was created, it means fixing useless traits like how Warrior’s sprint was 10% increase speed and now 25%, it means solving classes’s problems like Thief relying too much on stealth but they can’t cap anything while in stealth.
Everyone will always complain about something no matter what, before it was Necros, before that Rangers, before that Eles.
If they focus on adding counter rather than just buffing base stats you can mostly avoid the power creep problem.
For example, Warriors can make themselves very strong vs conditions, but that same build is more vulnerable to power based builds. If everything strong has a counter then things stay in balance.
Right now, the game should be better balanced, but you aren’t seeing many people playing Mesmers. Now that conditions are being held in check by Warriors, Mesmers can server not only as a means to counter them, but Portal and Moa are always a welcome addition to a team.
They were always a really strong class but because their Achilles heel was conditions. Buffing them too much vs conditions wouldn’t be wise because they would possibly skyrocket into Godhood.
Moral of the story, hate Warrior? Play Mesmer.
P.S. Stop suggesting moving Unsuspecting Foe to Grandmaster. No sane person is going to trait into a line that focuses on precision and condition damage when using a Hammer or Mace.

Sure , the unspec foes trait is broken. It cost only 10 points to get a 50% crit with nearly all your hammer skills and mace skills. Other classes have high crit traits in grandmaster. Like thief hidden killer which mainly applies to Backstab.
Mesmers are a free kill seriously I don’t how you can suggest playing mesmer in pvp.
Completly useless . I stomp them on my D/D thief with a PVE build. And on warrior … lol I feel bad for them. Conditions cant beat warriors because of cleansing ire btw.
Even necros are almost a free kill , you just pop berserker stance and you have 8 seconds to burst it down.

Read Unsuspecting Foe’s description. It only gives you the crit bonus vs stunned foes. Meaning it only affects Earthshaker.
Also, as has been said many times, you can’t directly compare traits of different class to each other.

Because of the focus and input they have gotten. Yes Warriors are strong, are they too strong? That’s debatable
The debate is never just about balance.
At least any worthwhile one.
Yes, a possible approach to the issue would be to leave warriors more or less as is.
Yes you could then bring other classes up to warrior’s power.
But the goal, the end goal of any change, is better gameplay.
That won’t make the game play better.
Warriors, in their current state, are stunlock kings.
That makes bad gameplay.
Fixing bad gameplay should be the focus of every patch.

Everybody agreed warrior was substandard..they got buffed. It is not power creep when they were already in disparity. That’s like saying I put $15 in my bank account that was $12 over drawn..whoa..I just got rich!!!..you didn’t get rich, you just got a wee bit out of debt and slightly above zero.

I changed my main to mesmer to see how efective they could be against warriors and must say that they are really good. And not against only warriors but they are really good 1v1 1v2.
Perhaps thats why in every match i played in the last week there were at least 2 mesmers in each game. Maybe people already are learning the next fotm class?
Just for the record i’ve seen matches with more eles than warriors in the last week.

This thread is now whacked out ideas other classes could get once ANet makes Warrior’s the baseline for what balanced looks like. I’ll go first!
Ranger – 30pt Marks Trait: Explosive Collar – Strap a radio controlled collar on your pet. Once pressed the pet explodes killing your target instantly and gives the Ranger +25% damage for 1minute. Pets can’t be resummoned for 1 minute.
Who’s next!?
They become top class, because of unfair no anti-counter.
Necro apply more condi than can be cleansed.
Warrior apply more CC than can be broken.
War being most played class in game, ANet took the time to give multi-choices of very very strong builds, in PvP & PvE. From super high but slightly glassy DPS, to total bunkers it takes a group to drop. Condi & Power specs.
