On the new map, when it enters overtime how exactly does it decide who wins and loses,

Just had a match there that went into overtime, we had there lord downed 3 times, but the enemy team just zerg balled up into the lord room and sat and waited for us, our lord never had any combat in the last 5 mins of the match, yet we still lost the game.

So can someone please explain how we lost when we downed there lord 3 times, did more damage overall, yet still lost in overtime?

That seems stupid to have overtime if you can do most damage and the enemy team wins by zerging up on there lord and waiting.

Probably points. Just look at the top of the screen. You get points for killing your opponents too.

Probably points. Just look at the top of the screen. You get points for killing your opponents too.

That seems kind of flawed then, as all a team has to do if they are losing is sit in lords room as soon as OT hits and camp it, that choke point at the entrance can destroy a team in seconds.

I assume you had your inner gate broken? That gives a lot of points to the other team. They also probably got more points from downing your team too many times. If a stallmate occurs, just grab mist essence and help heroes push instead of engage, if you had full control of the map at that point then the points from heroes will help you win in point wise. Overtime ends when the lord is no longer in combat so if it feels like you can’t break the base then just slow push.

The points awarded for various objectives need adjusted. Killing a gate was 50 last BWE – have to check what it is now. Should be at least 100 for inner gate.

Ok the map was as follows, both teams had both gates broken, my lord was at 50% and was untouched for the last 2-3 minutes of normal time, as soon as OT started the enemy team retreated to there base and all sat on the lord, we downed there lord 3 times but couldn’t get the finisher off due to the fighting, the overtime timer went to about -01:10 and then it awarded the win to the enemy team,

The system is flawed if when overtime comes a team an go sit in there base and basically kill you on a choke over and over, and get the win.

OT should be set so that the lord started losing 1% health every 5 seconds, meaning the team sitting there in the base zerging the enemy team attacking will not win, as it stands there is no reason to attack the enemy lord if you have the ability/team setup to basically hold your own base and wait for the points to come to you.
