PIP System + what went wrong from the start
What you just described was the perfect world, but it isn’t gonna happen and if it does people are still gonna complain about not getting out of amber, emerald, sapphire etc too.
Here is what needs to be done before any of that can happen. First people need to realize guild wars isn’t lol or overwatch, it wasn’t designed solely for the purpose of pvp, and if you change a trait that is op in pvp it will effect all game types, and might be a change for the worse in some of them.
Before any of what you talked about should be changed, they should separate pvp balance from wvw and pve, but this will never happen and guild wars will never be lol, overwatch or dota. The developers crippled themselves when they chose not to separate balance, and they are still too blind to see that it was the wrong thing to do.
As for the QQ about playing with bad players i can only say get good. I carry a lot of games on my warr atm, last season i carried a lot of games on my ele. If youre stuck in the joke people call mmr ‘hell’ join a pvp guild or play with a friend or 2. Guild wars 2 is still an mmo and was meant to be played with other people.
Funny part is, i think it’s separate. I remember them saying when nerfing the rev skill-2 from hitting 5 targets to hitting 3 targets. They said it will remain 5 for pve. That for me means they already can separate skills into PvP and PvE.
Maybe i am remembering wrong.
Balance is the same as it always have been. I’m pretty sure you remember wrong sorry. This is an old problem and a lot of people keep complaining about it, but anet wont do anything about because it will take too much work, at least i think that was their excuse last time.
Of course things like mechanics and cooldowns would be weird to balance between gamemodes and will probably be the course of a lot of confusion, but things like traits and general scaling should be a good very needed fix to the game, and will maybe in the long term make it so that anet will use less time trying to fix broken classes and traits.
