PVP is boring because of OP builds
Well, BYE. You won’t be missed.
you exaggerate like crazy, thats your problem.
Most classes have multiple working builds …. guardians, necros, engis, warriors, etc all have at least 2 or more solid builds. It depends on what you want to play.
Yea theres some classes that have that one OP build that is far away the best choice (like ele)…
Are you just now noticing this? its been going on for years. Everyone knows anets balance for pvp only comes every 6+months lol…. they flat out don’t have the manpower to keep working on PvP balance…
Just wait a month… HoT is a month away. you seriously think anet is gonna make serious changes to PvP balance right now when their first major xpac is the priority??? get real.
quit whining , go play something else and come back later.
cya….
the balance is pretty good in this game and the whole D/D- (and mesmer-) thing gets blown way out of proportion; yes, they are strong, but both classes have certain disadvantages and many other builds are very close to their strength in a well put together team.
Also, there are more than 1 build to use on most classes on a high level, just look at the ESL tournaments:
- Warrior: tons of rampage and shoutwars (shoutwar has different variations; some with clerics and hammer, some with settlers and longbow)
- Mesmer: Condi-Mesmer is being played by helseth sometimes for example and different shatter-mesmers (some with PU, some with illusions for the blind+confusion). There are also a few ppl who run the Staff+GS mantra-mesmer with powerblock very successfully.
- Ele: D/D and Staff, variations with earth or fire.
- Engi: Marauder or soldier variants of chaith’s elixir-build.
- Guard: Shoutbunker- or burnguards mostly.
- Ranger: mostly the pewpew, but I’ve seen some condition/trappers…. quite a while ago though I must say.
- Nec: Mostly clerics with signets and strength-runes, but we als sometimes see a more condition-based variant with scepter instead of mainhand dagger.
- Thief: Probably the least variety here, mostly vanilla shadow arts D/P-thief, but sometimes we see critical strikes.
I think thats a pretty diverse meta…..
As soon as I try some different build that SEEM to have lot of synergy, good combos, it simply can’t compete because the meta builds are not slightly better they are A LOT better.
As surprising as it may be I have actually a high win rate.
But this game is about getting carried by the build that’s it, very little skill ceiling.
When I see ele having super high survivability, mobility and damage I can only think the devs though about classes BEFORE conquest mechanics which is a huge flaw as we currently all see “esport” where teams use 5 times the same class and win.
So is it me exaggerating like crazy or is it facts?
Have fun on your ele/mes while you still can SkiTz won’t miss you either.
If Anet thinks its all good adding more broken without fixing the current broken (like EVERYONE using vamp rune) that’s gunna be without me peeps.

I think posts like this where users cry foul of classes being OP or Nerfed existed forever and never gonna be a situation where a set of users won’t be unhappy with the classes and would blame the developers for improper balance!
The info shared above about different classes certainly points out towards a lot of diversity. In all honesty if the game didn’t had diversity then all PvP players would have rolled the same class

Why exactly should me a game mode interest, which is played only by Premades, only Semi-Pros and only 2% of all players?
